Not all children go to kindergarten. Some of would dearly love for our children to be able to go to kindgarten, nothing would make our hearts happier, but due to severe health and developmental delays they won't be going. Not anytime soon and perhaps never. To that rude person who posted that it's "not an accomplishment" to go to kindergarten, let me just correct you. It IS. Every child who can grow and achieve and learn and move forward IS accomplishing things every day. When I look at my child I know she won't accomplish things at the same rate, and some things will remain forever beyond her. I don't know who you are, but I can't imagine you have children and certainly not a seriously ill one. I hope you reflect seriously on your foolish words.

Op who got the iv at home. He is trained and has had to give/start an iv in the field in an emergency but isn't a medic. Maybe I worded it wrong, he's trained, I just wouldn't call him a trained professional. He flushed the tube, he just wasn't as through as I'm used to... When I have to get one at the hospital they shoot fluid into the trash can, stop it by closing a thing and then plug it into my arm and open the tube back up... He didn't have a trash can nearby and let the fluid run until it almost came out I guess... I asked and that's the impression I got from what he said. He wants to go into medicine when he gets out so he knows his stuff, but yeah... The gurgling shoulder scared the crap out of me. Until he is done with all his schooling never again. I will pay attention for a fever or feeling worse for the next few days but as of right now I'm feeling better than I have in months. I mean there was a reason for all the other times I've said no... But my doctor just says "drink more water, Gatorade, pedialyte..." And it's not helping me make up for any of the fluids I'm losing when i'm flaring up and the referral to a specialist who gives a damn is taking forever. I had a weak moment and that gurgle made sure it'll never happen again.

I wonder what all the the children of all these over-sharing mommies are going to think of them when they grow up? Talking about the ones who blog or Facebook not only every milestone but pictures of poop and intimate bathroom details and naked kids in the tub (sorry, but there's a difference between taking pics of a naked baby and taking pics of a naked baby and POSTING THEM ONLINE). Online is forever, I think people forget that and I think there are going to be future adults pissed about the lack of respect for their privacy shown by their parents.

A guy I went to HS with, and have known forever, had an affair with a girl we all went to school with years later after she was married with kids and everything. I know about this because I know his whole family, she was going to leave her DH and then she wasn't.. bla bla drama drama. I log into facebook today and he is plastering his wall with photos of the two of them together, I guess hoping her husband sees them or something. I don't know what happened to spark this up, but boy oh boy I think I'm going to grab some popcorn for this one. 50-some odd comments already! Oh, I can't believe these people are adults. In their 40's! WTF are any of them thinking?

When I was discussing teenagers being shamed for things because of camera phones, I wasn't talking so much about pictures you tag on social media as people doing things and not realising they are being filmed, which then end up on news sites etc. Like the girl who gave two blowjobs to different guys at a festival, out in the open. Not exactly clever behaviour, in fact it's downright stupid in the camera phone age and in terms of potential STDs, but at the same time she was a drunk kid, I've been out of control drunk and I'm sure many others have too, before they learned their limits. There was another one recently with two drunk girls straddling two guys in a club car park...frankly to me it didn't actually look like they were having sex anyway, just sitting on the guy's laps, but there's all this moral outcry and "waaaaah what's happening to our children". I feel like what so did was ill-advised, but she doesn't deserve to be shamed forever more over it.

I'd give anything to be at the point where I think my guy is a big enough dumbass to no longer want him. He's not my Mr. Forever, but I am so crazy about him.

I'm not a Nascar fan at all but I feel bad for Tony Stewart. Seems like an unfortunate accident that he really couldn't avoid, and now he will have to live with it forever. Prayers to him and the family of the deceased.

I am pregnant and have been doing lots of searching for baby names. Oh man...some of the names I am seeing other people pick for their kids make my eyes hurt. If its not a completely made up name, its the butchered spelling of a traditional name. I am all for unique names, but please! Think about your kids' future before you slap something they will have to deal with forever on them! Oh, and almost every time I see someone ask for suggestions, there is always at least one person who suggests the name Jude. Bleh.
