My DS baseball coach's wife acts like a HS mean girl. I'm over it. Next season we're requesting a different team because of her. And a bunch of other parents are too. It's that bad.

DH has been out of town for over a week and I'm horny as hell. I'm dying to get laid, but my period started and it's bad. Now I have a lot of pain and unusual amount of blood the day before he comes back. WHY?!?!?

I am almost 40 and have fantasized about banging my 20 year old coworker in the bathroom. Maybe that makes me bad. Hell, he might even be 19. Or 18. Damn.

My domestic partner disappeared, left me, stole half the rent money and has not returned. That was in early January. I have finally cancelled the insurance, filed for dissolution of the domestic partnership, all the paperwork. Now I get a bill that says he has a broken arm. He is a drug addict and is 61 years old. I am pretty sure he will be dead soon, as he has not contacted his family and has been unemployed for five years. I am glad that he left. I didn't have the courage to do it, as I felt bad for him. I am stilll a little worried about him but I wouldn't want him back for all the money in the world. Still, we were together 8 years.

I've never been IQ tested and I would never choose to be. What's the point? If I come back higher than expected, I'd feel pressure to DO more with my intelligence. If I come back lower than expected, I'll feel badly about myself having sub par intelligence and start questioning everything I think. Who needs that kind of pressure?

Every time I hear a name I think is a bad idea or spelt in a silly way I want to post here. So here's my list. Brinley (girl), Justice (boy), Gunner (boy, I think it would be a cute nickname but feel he will most likey grow to hate it when he's older), and lastly... Jarrid (strange spelling of Jared)

I'm going to guess I'm probably pretty smart just based on how I've done in school/what people have told to me. My dad is a college professor. When I was a kid, if anything at school was too easy for me, he'd make sure I had something more challenging to work on at home. It prepared me well for post-secondary education, which was the first time I wasn't one of the smartest people in the room. I remember being in college and feeling bad for kids who were clearly the sharpest kids from their high schools, but had no idea how to even begin to apply themselves to something challenging. I resented the hell out of my tiger parents as a kid, but I'm grateful now.

My DH has a family member who, after going through a tragedy practices positive thinking like you practice religion. While I think that's fine and all for yourself and even when doing it with others in your thoughts who are struggling or going through hard times I feel personally that it can border on rude. A friend of the family member posted on FB (I saw the post because she commented on it) about being suicidal and reaching out to friends for support because of severe depression. I thought that was so brave. The response? 'THINK POSTIVE THOUGHTS AND YOU WILL BE JUST FINE!!!' Like that is going to magically make the friend's depression disappear. Your friend reached out for support and to me that isn't supportive. That is brushing them off because you don't want to hear about their pain. I think there is a difference between saying 'I will think positive for you/pray for you/think about you' and 'positive thinking will make all of your problems go away forever!' The family member did the same thing to me repeatedly when I went from being very sick while pregnant to having a very sick baby. You know what? Positive thinking isn't going to change the medical (or any) issues someone is going through. It is ok to support someone who is depressed or sick or grieving. They don't have to be happy or positive about it. It is ok to actually FEEL your feelings. And if my friend reached out from a deep depression my response would be 'is there anything I can do to help?' Even if it is listening to *GASP* negative thoughts. I just feel like people have become so concerned with making their lives completely happy all of the time that they refuse to really connect with others who need to just cry or vent because it might bring them down in some way. I actually ended my friendship with the family member because they just kept telling me to be grateful/positive because it could be worse and everything was going to be fine. Don't you think your friends and family know that? I KNOW and I'm sure your depressed friend KNOWS that it could be worse. But that doesn't mean that what others are going through doesn't matter because you don't feel it is 'bad enough.' Maybe to that person, in that moment in time it FEELS like the worst, and not everything is always going to be 'fine.' You do not get to determine what is someone else's worst, and then decide that because it isn't as bad as what you went through that they don't get to feel how they feel. My toddler with a chronic lung disease isn't the same as someone else's severe depression. And it doesn't have to be, nor does it have to be worse for me to acknowledge it feels bad for that person. You know why? Because I don't know what it feels like to deal with someone else's problems. And even if I did deal with that same problem I only know how it makes me feel, not them. The whole thing has just really soured me on 'the power of positive thinking,' and I'm not a negative or miserable person. To me it was like constantly having someone stick their fingers in their ears and going 'I can't hear you na na na na naaaaaaaaah' everytime I talked to them.

I work in a doctor's office and most of the delays are caused by patients. Sometimes it is the doctor and or nurse fault but usually not. Each type of visit is slotted for certain length on the schedule. Patients will schedule an appointment for a certain type of visit or one ailment but when they get to see the doctor they have 5 things wrong with them or tell the doctor long drawn out stories that are usually nothing to do with their visit. If that doctor tried to hurry the visit then he would be tagged with bad bedside manners. If you schedule an appointment for a cold don't go in and want to discuss the cold, your blood pressure meds, pain in your leg, medications you seen in a commercial, your diet and refills for other meds. If you want to do all that at one visit make sure you let the receptionist know so they can schedule accordingly. Many times patients will schedule an appointment for themselves then their spouse comes with them to the appointment. Once both get to the room then the spouse starts talking about their ailments as well and they were never scheduled to be seen and they want the doctor to give them a free visit since they came in with the patient. The same thing happens with parents and their children. Be respectful of your doctor and other patients when being seen.

I feel bad for people who seem so bitter and awful. Not just once but chronically. People who never have good things going on for themselves. I wish they could change their situation. I also have come across a few people who seemed to prefer misery over anything else.
