Our friends bought their DS9 a full sized 4-wheeler for his birthday. Everyone says they're being bad parents for letting him have it, but I disagree--I think it's important for kids to learn how to do things like drive 4-wheelers so it builds their confidence and self-esteem. I was a somewhat sheltered kid, but no where near as sheltered as some kids are today. The world needs more kids that have a little self-esteem, confidence, and skills.

If your ex's girlfriend or wife is punishing your kids, it is because he isnt and is happy to sit back and her be the bad guy, or "wicked stepmother" . My house, my rules. DH knows if SS misbehaves and he dosent say anything to SS, I will. No I do not hit SS and never would but I have yelled at him and taken away privileges in this house.Guess what? Most weekends go pretty well.

Today was my final trial for the hearing for my kids. I got awarded full custody! I can't believe he told the judge so many lies in an attempt to gain custody back of the boys. He said I wanted nothing to do with the kids when he was withholding the kids from me, that I became friends with is now ex gf to try and form an alliance against him (to which I said if me and her were actually friends, she most likely would have let me see the boys and probably let me take them take them) and just a whole bunch of other things that he said in an attempt to my whole character look bad. I'm glad the judge saw through his lies, the look on her face looked as if she didn't believe many of the things he said was priceless. I also get half of his military retirement, which he's absolutely pissed about. I was going to say I didn't want it but after he started spewing lies about me I thought better of it. He also brought up the abuse I suffered as a child--yeah, as if I could help that abuse when I was a small innocent child. The only thing that I'm worried about now is that he's going to retaliate against me out of anger. I have no doubt he will do that. That's what scares me, mostly because I'm afraid in an attempt to retaliate against me out of anger, he's going to accomplishment his goal: Gaining custody if the kids back, even if that means doing whatever he can to get them away from me.

I have a friend who uses coconut oil as sunscreen yoo...even when she comes in bright red and peeling, she refuses to realise that it's a really bad idea. I do understand the point that regular sunscreens are loaded with toxic chemicals and lots of them are actually indicated in CAUSING cancer, but there are natural sunscreens out there, that work by forming a barrier rather than absorbing UV rays. The only downside is that they tend to leave a white residue on skin. Using an oil as sun protection is fucking stupid...and I have told my friend this.

Dear Lord, I've got a massive headache behind my eye, my occipital neuralgia is acting up, I can't leave work, and dammit if the loudest most annoying coworker isn't in today. He's so freaking loud, and standing at my desk and I just want to smack the @$!= out of him. I'm honestly thinking of hiding out in the bathroom until lunch. Too bad I'm front desk. :/ ugh

DH and I were walking our dogs and we saw a woman walking with about 5 kids. She was screaming "Fuck you!" repeatedly to the kids and they weren't even really doing anything! I feel so bad for kids like that. I thought my mom was harsh sometimes, but at least she never cussed me out when I was 5 or 6 years old.

You can't even pay my mother a compliment without her throwing it back in your face until the end of time. "Mom, this apple pie is the best I've ever had." Then, until the end of time every time someone even mentions apple pie in any context whatsoever she'll take on a really haughty tone and say "It seems to me that someone said I made the best apple pie she ever had." And you come away from these comments feeling as though the compliment you gave her is something you need to live down for some reason. Every. Single. Time. It's insufferable to the point I never compliment her even though whatever she's done may have it coming. I just don't want to have that subject ruined for everyone until the end of time. It feels bad to withhold nice things to say, but there it is. She even ruins my nice feelings.

My bad date wasn't too much of a "Date" as we were just friends. But he invites me to breakfast, doesn't have money so I have to pay. Insists his meal has a hair in it, complains, gets a free replacement. Complains again that it has hair in it (I don't see it) gets a refund - MY money - brags to me about the money, keeps it for himself! Leaves. My other one, I went with a friend to meet a guy online that she was interested in, for safety reasons. He puts his arm around her, then uses his other arm to start rubbing my back. Awkward.

Bad date move on my part. We spent 1.5 h at coffee shop/ then walk to nearby pond. As we wrap up, he walks me to my car and gives me a hug. Then without thinking, I blurt out,"Oh, sorry! What's your name?" His face looked incredulous and it read,"WTF." Almost as quickly as it was said it was remembered, but alas damage was done. I introduced my name (we skipped this at beg.), and gave him an awkward handshake and said,"Nice to meet you!" I couldn't have ended the date any better, IMO.
