I like certain red wines, but I'm not a wine snob. The thing I have noticed though is sometimes I'll like a certain wine that I've had at a friend's house or at a restaurant, and then I'll buy a bottle of the same for home. When I open it and pour a glass most of the time it never seems to taste as good as I remembered.

Sometimes I wish I could read minds... Last weekend Ds and I went to breakfast with my brother and some of brothers friends... Brother drove the 3 of us and we let the rest of them at the restaurant. While I was buckling ds into his car seat my brother grabbed his diaper bag and tried to put it in the trunk. I said "please don't, I prefer to have it up front with me." My brother proceeds to look very confused and asks if I'm sitting in the back seat with ds. It took me 10 minutes to explain to a 35 year old that no, I'm not sitting in the back seat... I will be in the front passenger seat and like to have the diaper bag at my feet so that if my 1 yo starts crying I can reach everything I need to get him to stop. Maybe it's a guy thing? I've also had to give dh the same speech since ds was born and dh still tries to put the diaper bag behind my seat on an almost daily basis.

For BFs bday, me & his family went out to dinner, BF got to choose the restaurant and his sister said she was paying for him as a bday present. He chose a certain restaurant because they have a specific dish he was craving. All night his sisters DH was looking down at his plate instead of being social, & when he did say something is was in a rude pissy tone. This is odd behavior for him. Whatever mood he's in...he's always the life of the party and never shuts up. I ended up paying for BF because they refused to (now I know why). The next day, he tells my BFs friend that he was pissed off that I chose the restaurant instead of BF. The friend told BF about it. Thankfully BF confronted his sisters DH and told him that I certainly did not choose that place...he ruined everyone's night because he assumed wrong. You know how when there is a group of 6-8 people, and one of them acts up...the rest of the group gets quiet, and they don't know how to react or what to say so everyone just sits in silence with all the tension in the air? Yea, that was how it was. It's hurtful that he would assume something like that without any type of basis, but it's worse that BFs night was crappy...which hurt him. I'm going to his house tomorrow night to make him a gourmet dinner to make him feel better.

I've been trying for weeks to nail down a date to meet my Dad for Father's Day. I want to take him out to his favorite restaurant. I havent seen him in six months or so. I miss my dad and I worry about him, his health isn't so great. When I don't hear from him for long stretches I check with his brother who always tells me he's fine, just busy. So now I haven't heard from my dad in two weeks, after several emails asking him to pick a date to meet up. Why does he do this to me?

Bad date: We met up at Thai restaurant and he ordered a very hot dish which he sweated profusely throughout and kept talking about how hot it was. I wasn't feeling it, but felt bad and decided to go along with rest of date at the movies. We watched,"Hangover 3" and I hadn't even see the first two or like the kinda humor. During movie, he kept on talking and tapping my knee with his hand at the funny scenes. I was uber annoyed and moved my knee away and kept my purse on it so he wouldn't keep tapping. He had to tap the purse which he still did. Wow, weirdo!

The worst date I was ever on was when I was 19-ish. A guy asked me out, and he was cute and nice so I said yes. He didn't have a car so I picked him up. No big deal. We went to a restaurant, had our meal and a decent chat. When the check comes, he "left his wallet at home" so I ended up paying for everything. Yikes. So we get to the car and I take him back to his place, and he leans in to kiss me. I let him kiss my cheek, but that was all. I wasn't against giving him a second chance (maybe he really did forget his wallet), but I never heard from him again. Oh well. I didn't lose sleep over it.

Went to a popular restaurant for Mother's Day brunch buffet. Made reservations so we walked right in to our table. There were people waiting out the door and they were pretty upset that we were getting seated first. It's Mother's Day at one of the most popular places to eat in town-you need to think ahead people!

I posted on Truu about visiting my the in-laws and MIL's cooking. I love her and she is such a sweet lady. We get along great and I love visiting. The only problem is when we visit we stay at least a week or more because we live so far away. Everything is fried and I mean EVERYTHING (Her pancakes are fried in 1/4 inch of oil) or a casserole that always includes a block of Velveeta cheese and a can of cream of something. I have stomach problems while visiting and so does DH and DS. Last time we visited I had headaches almost the entire time. We offer to do the cooking some nights so we can cook something a little lighter but MIL takes pride in her cooking and feeding us. A fast food place would be healthier than some of the things she cooks. Another problem is they live 45 mins away from the nearest grocery store and restaurants. That means no quick trips to get something different to eat. DS 6 will only eat fresh or steamed veggies because that is how we have always eaten them. MIL only has veggies out of a can and DS refuses to eat them. He pretty much eats anything except her food. We get snack foods to help but there is only so much you can eat of crackers and fruits before you want a real meal to fill you up. We visit next month and I am dreading the visit.

I really dislike my father-in-law. I am half-Mexican but my mom's genes won out and If you didn't know me you couldn't tell. By some weird crazy happenstance my husband grew up in the same area my father did (and my grandpa still lives there). FIL knows this, yet felt the need to go on and on today about how much that area has gone down since "all the Mexicans moved there." I didn't say anything, but I wanted to say that maybe if he wasn't such a cheapskate he could move to another neighborhood and be an asshole there. The kicker is that he is Middle Eastern AND Muslim but feels he is better than everyone else. He treats servers at non-fancy restaurants like crap but at nicer placers he is more polite to them. He pisses me off so much.

I don't get it. The friend you saw at the restaurant is divorced and his kids are grown. So who cares if he's paying for drugs or sex?
