I can't volunteer at animal shelters because I'm afraid I'll go home in tears every night, obsessing over abandoned and abused dogs. I'll wind up taking a bunch in I can't afford, bordering on a hoarder or something. I donate supplies and money instead.

So over here, sick rich people apparently get their jollies running around the woods watching dogs rip foxes apart. Sick poor people enjoy watching two dogs fight in a ring. the UK's fox hunting bill may be scrapped (the bill states that the dogs can't kill the fox, they can still flush to fox to a gun, which still sucks but doesn't involve hours of distress and pain for the fox being chased), if someone tried that with dog fighting they would probably end up with a pitchfork brigade chasing them. Now, as a vegan I obviously oppose both. But how is a pack of big dogs tearing a little dog apart better than two equally matched dogs ripping lumps out of each other? Oh that's right, because rich people like the former activity and therefore it's part of our "tradition" and not a disgusting, vile, barbaric tradition that is no better than dog fighting, bullfighting or dancing bears. David Cameron, you are an arsehole. Please fuck off to arsehole island and leave the rest of us alone.

Sometimes I wonder if dogs thinks we are nuts whenever they see us picking up their shit.

My grandma used to invite those Jehovah's Witnesses into her house, this is a funny story. She told me one time they were sitting and chatting, she had no interest whatsoever in their religious babble, she just like having people to talk to. Anyway one time her two dogs were sitting in the living room while those people were there, and the dogs had a bad case of the fartsand soon the room was permeated with dog fart stench. I remember those dogs, they were these two big mutts and their farts could peel paint off the walls. My grandmother would always use this nasty air freshener to trying cover up the dog farts smell.....which always made it worse. obviously the two witnesses were finding it very unpleasant. One of them asked if they could open a window, my grandma obliged. It finally got so bad though that they stopped in midstream and said they would have to come back another day.she said they stop coming back after that

DH is so careless and irresponsible I no longer trust him to walk the dog. She has gotten away from him a couple times because he either didnt have a grip on her leash or did not put her harness on properly. Its a dogs harness, its not fucking rocket science. What an idiot.At least he apologized this time (his usual answer is "its not my fault" followed by some lame excuse) I told him I will walk the dog or let her out from now on. She is small and puppy pad trained. He still needs to see someone about his bipolar disorder.

I pumped for 6 months and then switched to formula. My ds bit off my nipples and I couldn't handle breastfeeding, but I wanted him to have breastmilk. He's the healthiest kid I know. He's never been on antibiotics or had anything worse than a mild cold and cough. I don't think it has much or anything to do with the breastmilk. I think it's because my dogs used to go up and lick his mouth and he also used to eat dirt. He would grab the one dog and chew on her. She would stand there and just look miserable until I could get him off of her.

Weiner dogs drive wagons.

Last night shitty kitty was attacked by a dog. She tends to sneak outside every once and while and last night she learned a hard lesson. This particular dog has shown aggression towards another one of my mil's dogs too. It's not a dog that should ever be left to roam free. It's not safe. The most awful part is that our two little cousins were outside too. That dog cannot be trusted. My husband is pretty angry so she's going to hear about it in the morning after she takes my cat to the vet.

Trying to find a house that can accommodate 4 adults, 5 (soon to be 6) children, 2 dogs, 2 fish, a turtle, a rat, and a guinea pig is hard. Trying to do it while pregnant, working full time, and with half the family on the other side of the country might just kill me.

My parents are members of the kennel club and claim to be excellent dog owners. They aren't--they let their dogs run loose on the front lawn and just hope another dog doesn't walk by, they once let one of their dogs bite a neighbor kid who was walking by, they didn't spay their other dog and she got pregnant, they don't license their dogs even though their city requires it, etc. It just bothers me that I know the truth but they tell the kennel club people how awesome they are.
