I posted about having a hard time making friends and not having any. I've actually has what I thought were friends use me. We'd go out for lunch, I'd be the one to pay, I paid for a "friend's" windshield once cause she was a single mom and her car was broken into so I felt bad for her. Eventually she just stopped talking to me. I think I just lack skills to make friends. I'm not "thin skinned" I don't talk about myself too much, I'm not overly sensitive. I know how to properly treat people and how to interact with people properly, tyvm.

I don't work in a medical office but I work with high risk obgyn offices all day. I literally just got off the phone with a nurse who thought it appropriate to tell me about her patient being an IV drug user and how they have to take blood from her feet because her veins are so bad.

Putting away food you're going to use for later is different from HOARDING food and never using it, keeping it to the point it goes bad. Can't you understand the difference?

Well the diet didn't go too well last night. I basically ate two dinners! Made & ate a loaded veggie omelette. But 2.5 hrs later my stomach was grumbling out loud (sometimes others hear it). Anyway, I just couldn't take it any more so I made another. I have been dieting for 8 months. Sometimes the hunger pains are so bad that I wake up and canot go back to sleep. I am eating 1200-1500 calories a day, spread throughout the day in smaller meals and snacks. (and brisk walking for exercise) I had hoped that my stomach would have shrunk by now (lost 50lbs, 80lbs to go) and helped to ameliorate the hunger, that the raw painfulness would be gone. I have acid reflux but that is well medicated so this is not a digestive issue. I do have "moderate" (unmedicated) insulin resistance. Some Google searches show that "raging hunger" is a symptom. Basically I need to eat lower glycemic load foods which I do and am OK doing for the rest of my life. I like lots of things. But yeah, still not helping. I'm trying not to beat myself up about this. But it is difficult. And as I finish typing this my stomach just growled. *sigh*

I must be the biggest asshole alive, because I simply will not enable bad decisions not even with my young kids. I'm unable to stomach baling irresponsible people out of their troubles and I don't feel so much as a bad twinge over it. I've noticed the people in my life who think the worst of me for this are held hostage by the adult results of their terrible parenting. High nurture/low expectation relationships aren't good for anyone involved. Get that through your thick skulls.

I'm fighting myself about "saving" my sister too. It is really hard to see someone you love go homeless when you could help them out - even though you know they are suffering from an endless line of bad choices. Every time she calls me up for money, I think about letting her clean up her own mess. But honestly, she doesn't make better decisions long term when I don't give her the money - she just suffers more. I'm not sure parenting had much to do with it - we had the same parents, and I grew up being (almost unhealthily) financially frugal, while she never worries about tomorrow - at least, until she gets an eviction notice.

Felt so bad that I played upon the emotions of a guy (cute, too) on Craigslist that I deleted my fake account and told him about it.

I haven't seen him for a year, but I saw him today. He didn't see me, and I didn't have a chance to say hi. Too bad. I looked good today!

I stockpile things that go on sale that I know are staples for my family. Like pasta. Many times I can get boxes of pasta on sale for $1 per box, which is not too bad. Or grated cheese, buy one get one free and the work is already done for me so I don't have to grate the cheese myself and pre-grated cheese freezes really well. Packages of chicken breasts and lean ground beef go on sale at my local Safeway for buy one get one free so I can stockpile meat for us to use for awhile. If I buy stuff I know my family uses in excess, how is that a bad thing? It's not imo.
