Things I have learned about sex #1 Waiting to have sex is a good thing. But not because sex is bad or dangerous or scary because sex with someone new often sucks and is usually awkward. So if you wait to have sex with someone you know well and take things slowly and get to know one another, sex is more likely to be good. I have been married 10 years and sex keeeps getting better every year. I would take one night of married sex over 100 nights of awkward/one night stand/drunk/barely know you sex. EVERY TIME!

I hated school breaks as a kid. Not the break itself, but going back to school afterwards. My parents were poor immigrants to Canada (I was born there) They worked 18hrs 7 days a week. No lie. Supervision was very, very minimal. I'm not sure it would be considered legal these days. We lived above where they worked (mostly). We didn't go outside (bad neighbourhood). We didn't vacation or travel (no money & no time). I barely had any recognition of birthdays and stuff like that. Definitely no parties. Christmas was barely any presents and parents worked that day too. It was weird and awkward. For years. Well imagine going to school and your teacher tells you to write a story about your break after you get back. I was smart enough to know my situation was funky. I didn't want to lie but I couldnt' tell the truth. I also wasn't imaginative and it was hard to come up with something acceptable by North American standards for the teacher. Kids would be sitting there having difficulty writing because their skills were still developing and I was having a moral crisis. It all seems so crazy to me now. I just hope there's more sensitivity these days to the issue of poverity.

Having a hard time with the knee issue. My marathon is in a month. I've worked so hard! I've done all kinds of stretching and strengthening specifically to avoid injury - like, crazy woman amounts of exercises, and now here I am. It's marathon #6, and I've yet to have a finish I can be proud of. This was going to be the one. I want it bad enough; I'll start all over again...but good grief, this is hard. I feel awful. What a huge disappointment. Can't seem to stop crying about it today. I've worked so, so hard...

I have been dating my boyfriend for almost a year. I am almost 10 years older than he, but it has made no impact on our relationship. I see this as possibly marriage and I have never felt like this before. With everyone else, I felt like there were things I tolerated because "you take the good with the bad" this guy is the whole package.

Former husband used to drink too much. Then he'd wake in the middle of the night and turn on the TV to help him fall back to sleep. If it woke me up, too bad. I worked full time. How was I supposed to be at my best without enough sleep? He was convinced he was a good husband. I was the inconsiderate one because I complained about it!

As unhealthy as it is...I love eating bacon covered in syrup. My kids have been eating it the same way since they were little. Too bad I only made enough for us to only get 4 pieces each.

If you are not having a baby shower, I do find it in bad taste to put on Facebook "For anyone who has asked, we are registered here." How about if someone asks, you tell them privately, because posting this makes you look like you are begging for gifts. I swear social media brings out the worst manners in people.

My DH has been complaining all morning about his stomach hurting. Of course I say aww but I really want to yell stomach drinking so much and maybe it wouldn't hurt. There is part of me that feels bad for him because he has a drinking problem. The other part of me doesn't feel bad for him. I know what it's like to struggle with an addiction yet he won't even try to quit. He tries for maybe 5 hours and is right back at it.

My eczema has been outta control lately due to eating gluten/dairy (I think) and stressors that cause me to scratch. It nearly covers all of the back of my neck, has spread in the last few months to the base of my scalp, and looks like a horrible, horrible sunburn. What I hate the most is spending money and going through lots of cream ($$$), feeling self conscious when I tie up my hair, getting nervous when someone has to see the back of my neck like when getting a haircut, wanting to cover up all the time at the gym even if I'm sweating, limited range of motion on bad days when it's extremely dry and tight, and family asking about it (out of concern, of course) and wanting to see it when I visit. I remember eating very clean for a period of time and really cleared up, but I have been procrastinating on cleaning up my diet for a while. Hopefully now by sharing my concerns it will help me kickstart my lifelong struggle to eat healthier and forreal this time! I can do this.

I told dh never to buy cigarettes for his mom and yet here I am, looking at another charge for the liquor store for exact price for a carton of cigarettes. He doesn't smoke and we never buy from that store, it is close to his mom but out of the way for us. Not fighting with him anymore, going to open my own bank account and he will not have access to my money. I am sick of paying for his mom's bad decisions, I am clearly living with one of my own.
