My ex DH was an absolute ass when we decided to divorce. First he acted all sad and weepy. Then a day later, he was cheerfully asking if I wanted certain mugs, plates and stuff from the kitchen, "I can pack some of it for you," I had to live with him an additional month before I arrange for a new residence (all family live far away). He actually still expected us to have sex "once in a while". What a jackass!

My DH went to visit my ILs while I had to work late. He called me to let me know he was bringing home strawberries--which was fine, except that I knew he'd probably want me to hull them and wash them and freeze them when I got home. Nope--he earned MAJOR husband points by cleaning them, hulling them, freezing them, and cleaning the kitchen up afterwards. It was probably one of the most thoughtful things he's ever done for me in a long time.

Bio mom had her baby. Cute little guy but I can't help but think it was stupid of her to get pregnant considering her unstable living situation. She lives with her bf, his dd and half the time she has the step kids (df has them the other half of the time). They live in a tiny 3 bedroom trailer, the toilet doesn't flush anymore and her bf has no idea how to fix it, there's no hot water in the bathroom but there is in the kitchen, again her bf has no idea how to fix it. She doesn't work even though she has a college degree (AAS) and is quite good in her line of work. She's on medicaid and food stamps and her bf income is not that good. A few days before she had her baby they bought a puppy. A new puppy and a new baby is not fun to deal with at the same time, they can barely afford to live and can't fix stuff in their trailer yet they spent money on a "designer" puppy (chihuahua mix). Her relationship with her bf is unstable, they fight all the time according to the step kids and their fights get really bad (she has thrown stuff and broken stuff and the step kids have said they were scared) and she has even left him for a few days. I can't help but think her situation is going to get so much worse in the near future.

I feel bad about this dog we are sitting. She can see us and be near us, but can't be by us because she is SO misbehaved. We use her crate and block her in an area off the kitchen where she has access to the dog door and space to roam (laundry room too). She is just 15 feet from where we sit on the couch, and my dogs. She whines and wants to be "with" us but she steals my dogs food (my dog just came out of surgery, she almost died and has to be able to eat in peace, or she just won't eat and this dog bullies her out of eating) she puts her face in our plates (even if we eat at the table) this dog jumps on all our counters constantly, gets in the trash, and at night roams the house, knocking things over keeping us awake. My dogs are elderly and want to rest, she is constantly in their face. She never stops moving, I mean literally NEVER. I let her out to roam at times but when we have to work or sleep I try to put her in her area she FIGHTS me and takes off, and I spend at least 5 minutes chasing her. My dogs obey and lay down at our feet with a toy or what not. I wish people would train their dogs!!! We will NOT dogsit this one again.

I don't think housework is boring. I find it intensely satisfying. I have a wonderful home in the woods with a gorgeous view from the back deck and a bright cheery kitchen. Keeping everything clean and orderly and pretty makes me happy. I'm glad you like hunting fishing and all that...but I dislike the implication that us gals who like keeping house are somehow boring. Disdain is evident in your tone. Please keep it respectful. I am an intelligent woman with multiple interests, I just happen to enjoy keeping a nice home.

My friends moved into a new home that is lovely but the paint colors are bewilderingly ugly> They plan to paint over everything. I am just wondering if the former owners were color blind? Pea soup green for a kitchen? Neon orange for a bathroom? Screaming bright red with BLUE trim in the living room? It's horrible but you can still see the house has good bones. I'd be slapping some paint on ASAP!

We have a very dated kitchen but it doesn't bother me. We can afford to re do it entirely, but I find it very comforting to have an older kitchen. It reminds me of my Grandma's kitchen growing up. The sink and fixtures are all from the 1960's and we have black and white tile. The counter is chipped and old. I did repaint it but otherwise it's OLD. People always ask 'so when are you getting your kitchen done?' I'm thinking never!

I wish there were a nice way to tell someone to stop eating so much because it is affecting his health/weight and I am concerned. We grilled 5 pork chops last night with pasta salad & veggies. I had the small one, we split one between the kids and DH took the largest one, leaving two. We all ate then he takes another chop & sides. Ok. He eats it, then takes the last chop & veggies. I clean the kitchen & put away the pasta salad. An hour later we have pie/ice cream (for father's day) and before bed I notice the pasta salad bowl in the sink. I also noticed when he went to the store yesterday for a mower part-he went out for fast food (saw the stuff in the garage trash). No big deal, but he omitted this info from me and still ate lunch at home. He has to be eating 5k calories a day. He eats like this all the time. =(

I am the OP of the husband that makes up stories about his life and changes his personality at each new location we live. His personality with me never changes only with his friends. I have confronted him on many occasions and he does not recall saying these lies. At first I thought he was trying to make me feel like I was crazy and for a little while I did because it was very overwhelming. I was the only person seeing the way he was because we were no longer around friends and family and I was the only one who could tell he difference. I talked to his cousin and he said he had always been like that when he was younger. Now I don't know if he just doesn't remember doing this or just does not want to admit it. His mother is the same but in a different way. I didn't realize this until last year when I stayed with her for an extended time while DH was in gone for a few months. She didn't make up things but never remembered events like they happened Say someone got up and did something. When she retold the events sometimes she would recall herself being the one that did it not the other person. Is that something that can be hereditary or he just became that way because he was raised around her doing things like that? My DS 6 has begun to deny things that are right before his eyes. I don't know if he is just mocking what his father does or if he has a problem as well. DH took my vehicle with DS and he got him a grilled cheese. I later found a half eatten grilled cheese in my back seat. I had DS come to the car and asked him why he left it in my seat and he just looked at me and said he didn't know what I was talking about. DS doesn't do it all the time, just every great once in a while. I feel like if I take him to a doctor they will think I am being weird since it isn't often and there is no medical documentation about my husband just what I have seen. The things my husband does aren't mean or vindictive but even if it doesn't cause any harm it still worries me. The other day he told a story about something he used and then later that night asked me where that item was. I said I don't know you had it earlier so you should know where it is. He looked at me like I was crazy and when I recalled the story he told me he had this confused look. A few years ago he was making something to eat and asked me if I wanted something. I told him no. Few minutes later he comes in with a plate of food. I asked him why he made me food when I said I didn't want anything. He said that I came in the kitchen and said I changed my mind and asked for a two egg omelet. This has always worried me but now it is really bothering me with my son being this way
