One of my favorite restaurants is cash only and there is a large sign in the window making it obvious cards and checks are not accepted. There was even an ATM next door. Most of the bitchy Yelp reviews are from snowflakes who though they could convince the owner to accept cards. I'm so important, do you know who I am, how archaic, blabbity blabbity. He'd tell them to learn how to read and ignore their selfish demands. Good for him, his business his choice. Yeah it's a little old school but I don't care, he's a cool guy and the food is good., and reasonably priced. He's been in business for over 40 years so a few self important brats throwing tantrums have not hurt him at all. No substitutions too so if you couldn't have anything cooked in peanut oil or hated mustard you were SOL and were free to visit Carl's Jr. down the street, lol.

My all time favorite desert is Tiramisu. It's so hard to get a good one at restaurants. Recipes anyone???

I think one of my favorite things about eating at real Japanese restaurants are the hot cloths they give you for cleaning your hands. Not only does it feel nice but they get the temperature right each time. Just don't wipe your face with it, yuck! I remember getting them in 1st class when we'd travel, not sure if airlines got rid of them along with all the other things.

I wonder if the same people who are sooo offended that some places have different rules also throw hissy fits at 4 star restaurants with dress codes. I remember dressing up when I was younger for dinner at the country club. A few guests made stinks about the dress code but otherwise it was a very nice night with good ambiance. It's fun to be fancy sometimes.

I also watched a few patrons at a Japanese restaurant get screamed at by the chef. It was funny because they kept complaining and sending food back and acted offended when the chef ordered them to leave and never come back. Just rude behavior and I wish more places would kick out whiners and nuisances.

jfc, it's JUST SUSHI! You sound like a snob. Enjoy your "traditional" sushi hole in the wall restaurant by yourself cause I would NEVER eat a meal with someone who acts like they can't just enjoy sushi cause it has to be the "right" kind. Ugh. So glad I don't have stuffy people in my life like that.

Picky BIL and SIL want to try traditional sushi restaurants. I do NOT want a part of that. I am Japanese and grew up learning etiquette of eating food from a formal sushi chef. I know they will complain about the customs. Yes some places are casual but I can easily see there being problems. A chef will not take kindly to their complaining for example. Lots of sushi eating rules are for both cleanliness, taste, and respect toward other guests. For example you dip the fish side of a sushi piece in shoyu, not the rice. Rice gets saturated and falls apart contaminating the little bowl and ruins the flavor of the rice. Sending something back to the kitchen? Big no-no. Ugh.

I think people see me as picky when it comes to eating in restaurants. I simply cannot spend money on things I can make at home and they won't contain 10x the fat or calories the restaurant version has. Spaghetti with meat sauce? My version does not contain 34 grams of fat or 1400 calories and still tastes good. My tuna sandwiches don't have 700 calories or 25 grams of fat. I know things like buttering bread before assembly make calories add up but damn.

The restaurant in our city that has gotten top health scores for many years is a strip club. They serve full meals too, not just snacks.

I don't care much for burgers, I like them home made but not fast food or even most restaurants. BUT I made some homemade dill pickles the other day, and HAD to have burgers to eat them with!
