Kavanaugh is a heterosexual, Christian, white man..he cares nothing of the law and/or justice. Only cares to serve other same heterosexual Christian white men. If no one sees an issue with Kavanaugh and just wants him to be approved nilly willy because they are bored, well, THAT'S what's wrong with America today. Unpatriotic nitwit fvcks that give no care to any one outside of themselves. Probably not even their own mamas! SMH.

Evangelical Christians are destroying America. When will they be designated as a hate group?

Gotta love the Christian Right's response to the border situation: It's "our" job as Christians to care for the poor and needy and the immigrants. Not the government's. Um, okay. Whatever you have to tell yourself to let yourself sleep at night. It's showing the rest of the world that we are a nation of assholes that are endorsed by Christianity. Not to mention, they would be totally up in arms about it if the immigrants were here illegally from say, Germany or Canada. The only reason they think the border should be secure is because they don't like brown people. Makes me sick.

100% of Christian churches should be denouncing Trump's policies. “Then he will answer them, ‘I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’" I love Jesus, but I will never be a Christian, mostly because I don't believe in God, but also because I can't stand hypocrites.

It makes me so happy to hear that there are churches that are openly speaking out against Trump's policies. Around here, many Christians are doubling down on their support of this vile administration. The mental gymnastics is astounding. I'm just praying that they know in their hearts that he goes against everything Jesus taught and they're just trying to save face when they defend him. Probably not, though.

I am a Christian, and I hate that the bigoted, evangelical Christians give all of us a bad name. My church is not like that at all. It is very diverse. There are people from all over the world there, and they are all welcome. We embrace learning about the different cultures. I am Orthodox Christian, so many families have been affected by conflicts around the world. We have helped may refugees from Syria and Eritrea, helping them find jobs and homes and trying to get their families safely here. We make meals for and feed the homeless. We donate clothes, money, and gift cards to a woman's shelter. We partner with a church in an economically disadvantaged area to buy school supplies for their members, most of whom are here illegally. And it's not an Orthodox Church. Our priest and his wife are foster parents. And we openly denounce discrimination and Trump's immigration policy. We're not all bad, I promise.

I just try to always remember that the people who gave Jesus the hardest time about everything were the religious wing-nuts who hated that he didn't follow all their stupid rules. That's the only way to keep sane around the evangelicals. I am beginning to understand why the people at my very bigoted church pressured me to go to a Christian university--they wanted to keep me indoctrinated with their close mindedness. I went to a public, diverse university and was exposed to many different people of many different cultures and I think that really was the key to me having more of an open mind about other faiths and cultures.

I don't believe in God but I do believe in the energy of the universe, reincarnation, etc. DH claims to be a Christian but isn't one who goes to church or speaks about anything religious and never has to DS. I want DS to make his own mind up so we talk about all kinds of religions and how they are all beautiful and none are wrong unless they are causing harm to people. Lately DS has been making statements about things in life and making judgements based on the religious beliefs of others. I started talking to him about it and he has a friend at school who always talks about his religious beliefs and how other people are wrong and going to hell for their choices. He is 10 and typically makes his own decisions about things but this child has scared him into his beliefs. I can only imagine what this child is told by his parents especially that he feels the need to scare his classmates into his family's religious choice.

So remember when Demi Lovato was a kid on "Barney"? I was a kid at the time and my little cousins loved Barney. My uncle (who is a pastor and should know better) always made fun of her because she was a little pudgy as a kid. Turns out she must have had a lot of that because that's what started her bulimia. That makes me so sad. This is also why I get annoyed with my uncle. He claims to be this great upstanding Christian, but he'll make fun of little girls and hates gay people, etc. I don't have time for that kind of hate in my life.

I now equate the term 'conservative Christian' with the word 'evil'.
