I joined a Facebook group to vent about MILs. We averaged about 5 posts a day. Then some drama happened, so the Admin made posts by approval only. Admin has no Mods. Since then, only a few posts a week are being approved, mostly the Admins posts about her MIL. I've had 3 posts pending for over a week. I PM and ask if she needs a Mod to help approve and I wouldn't approve my own. She said no and admitted she's being selective. I don't think she understands that people have been leaving because their posts aren't being approved. She has no rules, they just need to follow Facebook guidelines. I know it's her group so she can do whatever, but soon there won't be anyone in it. I left the group, but it's frustrating that I made posts venting about my MIL and I can't get any feedback. Don't make a group allowing everyone to join but not allow them to participate.

I think it’s a little bit of both, admin! The stuff that people believe about trans people is just so sad and disrespectful.

You taking out your issues on other people has nothing to do with institutionalized misogyny. If, by being crude, you mean you've said gross hateful things about women, it's because women have been socialized to hate on other women. A lot of those scum were children. I was in college during those years, studying sociology. We did an in depth study about unmanned drone strikes and, sorry, but you're wrong. Many of the people who were killed were never verified as the enemy. I'll never forget the interview we watched with a soldier who was ordered to strike, and seconds after he followed through with the order, 3 kids ran around the side of the building. They were killed. He eventually killed himself. As for the cages, they've existed for years. The migrants have been traveling here in caravans since around the Bush admin. It's a protest for how the USA has destabilized their countries. Children often travel alone, or are brought by gang members/drug runners to help with entry. The kids were held in these same facilities and the numbers have always been high. Not saying any of this to excuse trump, who obviously is a racist, but none of this is new. It's just more televised. This has needed fixed for a long time.

This is a vent, and not against anyone here. Lots of people in my family post those "F Cancer!" posts. All the time. And I feel like it's kind of attention seeking. I'm sorry your uncle died of cancer, but he was my dad. I click "like' but I don't share. I really don't appreciate this "bet you didn't read this all the way to the bottom" and "bet you won't share" bs. I'm over here like "bet you never had to administer morphine" and "bet you never had to order an oxygen machine or a hospital bed." It's been a while. I've processed my grief, for the most part, but other folks who weren't that close to him are frankly milking it, and it gets on my nerves. End rant.

I hate the Trump admin, but I'm the sort of person who tries to learn from everything, and I've learned to really... like REALLY... pay attention to the news. I know this is an unpopular opinion among my fellow dems, but there truly is a shit-ton of fake news. By "fake" I mean it's just as skewed as Fox, only it's aimed at Dems. I've learned to do Google deep dives on pretty much every negative thing I read about Trump. He's a cuntasaurus, but there really is a lot of things that I gave Obama a pass for that I've been trained to hate Trump for. Caging kids? Check. Deporting non-criminal immigrants? Check. The most civilians killed in unmanned drone strikes, including kids? Yup. Fuck politicians. Fuck all of them. Makes me want to just live off the grid.
