I cook on Mondays for the rest of the week. (I work Tues-Fri). It's awesome, since I love cooking and consider it a hobby. On MOndays, I have the house and kitchen to mysefl and spend the day whipping up delicious creations. I cover them with tinfoil, label them with thawing and reheating or cooking instructions (in case I am late getting home) and all week long we have delicious home cooked meals but I'm only cooking one day per week.

Pretty sure my husband has a drinking problem. Last week he bought a bottle of whiskey. He filled his flask, then drank the rest of the bottle over the weekend. Today while looking for the car's registration I found the flask in the bin-thing between the seats. It was empty. I asked him if he was drinking at work and he said no. Later I asked why it was in the car. I put it up on top of the kitchen cabinets last Saturday night. He said he didn't know and got mad at me. I'm pretty upset right now.

Dh has memory issues. Legit short term memory issues. He uses it as an excuse all the time when he forgets to do something I ask. Which, while I think sometimes it's bs it's something I expect and if it isn't important I don't bother to remind him. But it drives me nuts that he seems to expect me to believe him on certain things. He's currently looking for his tablet. He likes to leave it charging on the kitchen counter and I move it because it's hogging one of 2 outlets that I can use in the kitchen, or because I don't want it getting damaged. When I move it I ALWAYS put it in the same spot because I hate it when he moves my stuff somewhere random and then can't remember when I ask. It's not in that spot but the charger is. And he swears up and down that he just put it in the kitchen to charge yesterday. I know for a fact that it's not true... I used the outlet yesterday for my crockpot and rice cooker... When I moved the charger I remember thinking "he can't get too mad this time... Nothing is plugged into the charger." The crock pot and rice cooker are still plugged into the outlet. I told him I'd try hard to remember where I saw it last and he says to me not to bother because he knows where it was yesterday and I should just work on remembering where I put it after moving it. I just want to yell that I didn't f-ing touch it and he shouldn't make accusations like that knowing his memory is so bad. But if I say anything at all about his bad memory he gets all upset and offended.

Instead of using leftover ham in a ham and scalloped potatoes casserole (ICK!) or ham and beans (YUCK!), I made ham salad. After cleaning up the kitchen and the ham salad sat in the fridge for a couple hours, I decided to taste it. It's SO freaking salty that there's no way we're going to eat that!

When we were eating dinner at my inlaws on Saturday night, my bil walked into the kitchen (he was eating in the living room watching hockey, god forbid he sits at a table) and farted really loudly. Like it sounded almost more like he pooped himself. My mil, sil and bil all laughed and thought it was hilarious. I was not amused and I did not laugh and said that is not funny, that is so rude to do that while we're eating. Thanks for ruining my dinner. Wtf is wrong with those people? Farting "can" be funny, sure, but while we're eating? Disgusting. My dh didn't laugh, but he didn't say anything. He's such a damn wimp.

I just got home from traveling this week. DH meets me at the airport, and apologizes for not doing more with the messy kitchen while I was gone. Neither of us are great with cleaning, so I just shrugged it off. But I got home, and he didn't even unload the dishwasher I ran on Sunday. I guess I misunderstood - I thought "doing more" implied he did *something*.

Just watched an update on Kitchen Nightmares about Amy's Bakery, that restaurant with the crazy blonde lady that Gordon Ramsey gave up on. The original story went viral and really brought the crazy. This was mostly flashback footage and boring never before seen clips. I want my 40 minutes back. I should know better.

In the 90's I used to waitress and the staff were always smoking in the back of the kitchen. I used to watch the smoke drift and settle over the warmer where the dinner plates were waiting to be brought out to customers. Who knows how many carcinogens landed on those plates! GROSS

Bought two natural jute rugs for our front door (3x5) and balcony (24x36). It's not often I can find things in matching pairs at Ross, but I am so happy I did! It was the first rug I saw, matches our kitchen rug, and it was cheap.
