There are actual forums out there of Trumpers who are sharing tips on how to do voter intimidation. Trump is actually recommending "poll watchers." How is this legal, and how is he allowed to talk like this? I support free speech but I also think the president really shouldn't be allowed to encourage people to threaten violence on those who aren't going to vote for him. This isn't some developing nation dictatorship, why the fuck are these people who act like they love the US so much behaving like this? This is not American behaviour, this is North Korean behaviour.

I believe Trump when he says he will leave the country if he loses. But it has nothing to do with what Biden's America will be like and everything to do with avoiding prosecution for tax evasion and bank fraud. He needs to leave thee country to stay out of prison.

Same. I always thought because I was raised Christian, I should be Republican. I also was under the impression that because my husband was in the military, that meant that I was supposed to be Republican. When I met the other soldiers and their wives, sure there were gung-ho Republicans who were all "God and country" but there were others who Democrats and very progressive as well as atheist. I was actually told by my mom that I SHOULD be Republican because of my husband's career but this was from a woman who had absolutely no idea and was just going off of stereotypes as I once had. It took a lot of soul searching for me to realize that just because I am Christian, doesn't mean I am Republican. In fact, the closer I learned more about my faith, the more I started to lean towards being a Democrat. By the time my husband left the military, not only have I decided that I could no longer align myself with my former views of being an American and a Christian.

Oh, for the love of Pete! I said 'karma's a bitch' because it's a VERY well-known phrase where I'm from....the midwest in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! I never said I wish him ill....maybe I should have said 'irony's a bitch, ain't it', but who among us has heard that phrase before?? Oh, and I never said I understand what karma is (nor do I feel the need to know, btw), just as the OP #65595 joked about. Lighten up folks! It was a tongue-in-cheek joke. Geez! PS: Don't rag on me for lovin' Pete...that, too is a well-known phrase in my neck o the woods.

It's kind of amazing how soft most people are when it comes to exercise. I wonder how many people out there could easily go run a mile, come back and do 30 pushups and then do 100 jumping jacks. That's not exactly even a tough workout and I bet 70% of Americans over the age of 25 couldn't do it. That was part of why I started getting in shape, I think. The thought of not being able to keep up with daily life scared me Also, no one in my family ever did a lick of exercise and my sister and I did and still do. And we are the only ones in the family who have "our high school bodies" in our late 30s. It's not like we even do a ton; just a lot more than anyone in our family.

I am afraid between the pandemic and the election I might end up losing my marriage. My dh is my best friend, but he can't see past his white male privilege. He only wears a mask bc I ask him to, and he is one of the "I just know I've already had it so I must be immune". I find myself moving farther away from being able to support this country the way it is, and I don't really see anything changing. He doesn't see any of that bc he's never had to deal with it. And I won't pretend I've had it as bad as others. The pandemic has really brought all America's issues to light in an ugly way.

I'm voting for the guy who was vetted by the US government TWICE as VP, and nothing ever came up. I'm voting for the guy who doesn't have actual cases of child rape with Epstein filed against him. I'm voting for the guy who isn't responsible for the deaths of 190,000 Americans. I'm voting for the guy who didn't cause 40 million Americans to be unemployed. JFC, I'm so fucking sick of this rhetoric. Biden wasn't my first choice, but he's incomparable to Trump.

She always says that the economy SO good. I've taken that to be code for "Hooray, there's a white guy in charge!" because she doesn't believe Obama was American. I've tried pointing out that economists say we officially went back into a recession February 2020 but it's like talking to a brick wall. Racists gonna racist.

One thing I've really come to believe is that American politics really is like football. People have their team and it becomes a part of their identity. They don't care if the "players" are criminals, rapists, or dog killers. They will root for their team, no matter what.

I honestly think most rabid Trump supporters are just too stupid to get how things work. They really think that raising taxes on people who make $10 million + per year is somehow going to mean that their taxes will go up, even though they only make $40K a year. They think paying $7000 a year in taxes for universal healthcare costs more than the $12,000 the average American pays now. I've seen Trump supporters very vocally talk about how Obamacare is horrible and should be repealed. Meanwhile they have insurance through the Affordable Care Act. Like they are seriously too dumb to know it's the same thing.
