Dogs are family members, not farm animals. If you leave him outside you're asking for trouble, and though I feel sorry for the dog if he gets stolen or harmed, you deserve the guilt you'll feel WHEN that happens.

Somebody tampered with my dogs outside run leash today. They unhooked it from where it was attached to the house, and the weird part is that it was very noticeable and obvious, one end lying right in the driveway. Maybe someone's bad attempt at a joke?

I hate trump and his worshippers so much that when i see a video and it turns out they are trumpers, I turn off the video. Tonight i did this to a dog video i found interesting (re: giant mastiff dogs) and when the man loaded his dogs into his SUV and closed the hatch I saw trump stickers and turned off the video. I was immediately a triggered snowflake liberal. Haha. Fuck donald trump and his worshippers.

One of my dogs is sick, and I'm stuck at work, and DH and FIL don't know what's wrong with him but he can't stand up and keeps falling over. OMG. He's 130lb mastiff and DH thinks it's something neurological because it came on suddenly but he's not hurt or injured or anything. The vet can't see him until tomorrow morning. And here I sit at work completely helpless. He seriously CANNOT keep falling down because he will wind up hurting himself. He's like a baby giraffe, he's all legs and elbows. My boy! I want to go home to help, but I probably can't do anything more than what DH & FIL are already doing. :(

I grew up with cats, so when I was 25 I adopted two of my own. A few years in, I realized that while I like cats (and dogs), I the amount of responsibility that goes into ownership isn't worth it. Because I loved my cats, I gave them a wonderful life until they died of old age 5 years ago. But with all the sadness that goes with them passing, I felt a bit of relief too. And now, I'm facing a really difficult decision. My sister died suddenly a few weeks ago, and her two indoor only cats need a home. I tried to find them one, but they aren't young or particularly cute and they are extremely skittish (not even a little friendly). So now, knowing my sister's final wish would have been for me to take her cats, I have have to decide if they go to a no-kill shelter (which won't guarantee against euthanasia), or if I am going to spend my next 5-10 years being a cat owner again. If you were me, what would you do?

I feel this way about people who don't spay/neuter their dogs and cats. Idiots. Totally stupid, selfish, idiotic idiots.

In honor of Festivus, let's put up the pole and air some grievances. I'm absolutely disgusted with two people I know, who claim to support our local animal shelters, and preach about adopting animals, but both have multiple dogs from puppy mills. People who breed dogs, I don't care how humane the conditions are, make me enraged. Same with the people who buy them. You don't give a shit about animal welfare. You care about having a designer animal that acts as a status symbol to feed your ego. What are your polarizing, strong opinions about something? It's Festivus. Let's celebrate!

The house I'm renting was vacant for 7 months. The landlord did no work on it. I move in, suddenly everything has to be done. New roof & other work. I was here a week then they started. They worked 7am to 5pm on Thanksgiving! I told them how freaking annoying it was to hear them banging on the roof all day when we had people over & had to yell to hear each other. Constant banging & loud tools, not taking a day off. Not to mention I'm footing the electric bill to keep all their crap plugged in & charging 24/7. I have to park down the street so they can park their truck in my driveway. 3 weeks of this is too much. They were supposed to be done 2wks ago. Every day it's "We're going to be done today", then 7am the next day they're waking me up to move my car when I don't have to be up til 8 to get DD to school. Not to mention leaving my doors wide open when I have my heat on & they're not even at the door. They also keep leaving the gates open when I have dogs who will escape. Gonna snap!

I'm a loner too. I have 0 people that I'm close to. Unless you want to count my DH and my DD. When I was young, my dream was to never have kids and never marry. I wanted to live in a small house by myself, surrounded by dogs, and no friends. DH is military so he's gone all the time. I'm at my happiest when I'm alone.

I know this confession is old, but from someone who used to live somewhere that banned pits in the 90s, it makes no difference. Fatal dog attacks have risen since that ban. The problem is irresponsibility, a dog becomes fashionable, then it becomes dangerous because tons of idiots buy one. Huskies are the rising stars in dog attacks because of their current popularity. Sadly, the public are morons who will buy whatever breed is in fashion, regardless of whether they are a fit owner for the dog. Pit bulls have unfortunately always been popular with jackasses who want to look tough, so there's that. They are just another breed of dog that needs the right owner, not good or bad dogs, just dogs. 70% of all dog bites involved unneutered male dogs and 90% of dogs taken to the vet for aggression issues are unneutered males...that to me is far more relevant information than breed. Neuter your dogs, folks!
