i don't like my marriage but i only have myself to blame. looking back, all the signs and red flags were there, i was just too naive and all up in my feelings to take note. if i had the knowledge and wisdom i have now back then, i would've never gone past the 3rd date with him (that's when the signs began to show). DH isn't abusive or a bad person or anything, he's just not the kind of partner i've come to learn as i've gotten older that i need. he can't possibly become that person either. things aren't so bad where i need to divorce ASAP (i do love him) but i don't think i can stay forever either.

I've been pretty depressed lately. DH is hopeless, feels like I'm going to be broke forever. No real friends or really anyone to talk to. But news this week of Epstein and RKelly getting arrested for being sex trafficking pedos, actually really cheered me up. They found his safe full of evidence, you just know other pedos who partied with him are nervous as hell right now. A small rainbow in this hellish world I find myself in.

Divorced woman here. The best days of my life were the 25 years of marriage to the man I wish I were still married too. I was not a kept woman, nor did I do all the work with house and kids. And he was the opposite of lazy. We got along really well and were a great team. The disconnect happened slowly over time. I would like to find a lover and partner again, but I'll never get remarried. I thought the first time around was forever. I'm not stupid enough to risk it again. Can't imagine ever loving any man as much as I loved my husband. I'm financially stable and have everything I need aside from romantic love. I am definitely not happier being single.

i feel the same way. i love my dh but if i could do things over again, i would've never gotten married. if my marriage does end, i will never marry again. i feel like my quality of life has gone down since getting married. my single life, while more expensive to maintain, was so much easier, simpler, and more fulfilling. i had more time for friends, family, and hobbies than i do now with all the basic requirements and compromise that come with a marriage. we get along fine but i honestly don't really get anything out of my relationship with dh that makes me wanna stay forever. he, on the other hand, loves being married. he tells me this all the time. i feel bad though because, while i do love him, i don't feel the same way about being married at all.

Actually, my dad hasn’t done one thing to prepare for the move. He says he’s going to do something, then when I ask about it a couple days later, he says he hasn’t done it yet. I’ve got to step away or I’ll go nuts. Yes, I’m a perfectionist, and yes, I like to get things done before the last minute. But my dad, for whatever reason, isn’t doing what needs to be done. I haven’t been in his house in six years because he always has a reason I can’t go in. DH was there last week and glanced into the house from the garage (where he’s removing a pick up truck full of trash every two days!), and said it’s a hoarding situation. So I’m dealing with getting him into his apartment then I’m done. He can spend every day cleaning the house out, or it can sit there forever. I’m done offering to make everything easier for everyone else.

I have a phone interview this week for a position that I'm positive I'm going to dislike, but I'm actually super excited. The job pays really well, I've known the boss for 18 years and she's super sweet, and I'll be working with my best friend. Plus, quarterly bonuses and I won't have to travel like I do with my current job. But the job itself is going to take forever for me to learn and I'm sure I'll hate it for, at least, the first 6 months. Still hype though!

Sure, guns have been around forever; however, our society has changed and the forefathers who wrote the constitution never intended it to apply to a world 200 years in the future. Not to be rude, but no fucking shit guns have existed for centuries. Doesn't mean we, as a society, don't need new laws to govern the people who clearly shouldn't own them. The parents of every single child who gets ahold of their gun should be in prison. Anyone convicted of domestic violence (a misdemeanor in many states, because, you know, beating your partner ain't no big deal) should not be allowed to own a gun. There are common sense laws that need to be passed. Also, the research has already been done as to why gun violence is a huge societal issue in America. The data has been out for years. There are dozens of sociological studies available via the Google machine. We know why this keeps happenig. Pass the fucking laws.

I hate the weekends. There, I said it. It just means dh is home and I don't like it, don't like him either. We're separated but still have to live together. Ugh. It sucks, but it won't be forever.

I'm the OP who started the whole "paying for college" debate - and I agree with you. My parents paid for my college tuition and books, as well as my car and insurance. They furnished my first apartment, helped with rent for several months as well as food, all until I could get on my feet. I am forever grateful, because life is hard, especially for young kids starting out. And I will do that for my child as well. Mine is going to CC first and then transferring because it's the smart thing to do, mentally and financially. He didn't have the benefit of a college-prep high school like I did (hs was harder than college for me!) so he doesn't need the added stress on top of what he has to deal with from his father. He works part time, covers his entertainment, helps immensely around the house and contributes some to his phone, car and some groceries. Plus he's on Honor Roll. That's enough for me!

I had a good conversation with my boss about work expectations. I have been busting my ass putting in 50-60 hour weeks to get a project done and I stress out if I don't get to email immediately. She said "What if you miss an email? It's not the end of the world. You need to take time for yourself too". And she is so right. My family is getting older and my parents won't be around forever. I will regret not spending time with them; I won't regret not putting in a ton of time at work.
