Staying home is wonderful. Might as well enjoy our own company during this time. Don't miss restaurants and never went to bars. Like to read and watch tv and keep in touch by phone. Not interested in relatives' dramas and glad to be out of it. Best time ever!

She got a job! She's waitressing at the restaurant that used to be the dive bar that I used to get shit-faced in and sing Sheryl Crow on karaoke night many many moons ago. LOL. She's also waiting to hear back from another interview for a daytime position at a call center. She's also going to start trying to sell custom pet portraits, she does an amazing job of capturing pet 'souls' in pencil and ink. She makes them as gifts sometimes, and I've been telling her for years now she should try to sell them. So we'll see.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. You're not alone - DH is like this, too. He went to an amusement park with us one time, went on one ride and decided he was done. He spent the rest of the day sitting in various bars around the park. We went Christmas shopping together, but then he decided he didn't want to walk around. Again, spent the several hours that DS and I were shopping sitting in a restaurant bar in the mall. He was wasted by the time we joined him. He spent all of his days off sitting on the couch, drinking beer and whiskey. He even got smashed when we were out w/ his friends and became verbally abusive to me. I've told him I will leave if he doesn't get it under control, but he won't stop. He's just incapable of NOT drinking. This only started a few years ago.

Dinner with 60 year old guy was ok. I asked him to surprise me and pack food and we'd sit in his truck and talk. He said he was bringing his dog so we ended up at a restaurant. He's really nice, but has a limp. I worry about us doing things together. His dog was wild and sounded like he kept growling at me, but guy said no, he's like that with everyone. I worry about living 2 hours away from each other and our age. He's a country boy and I'm a city girl. I'm not attracted to him, but he is kind. We're supposed to meet up again Wednesday and eat lunch by the river. We'll see. If we end up just friends, that's good with me. Didn't tell my family anything either.

My SIL is an obnoxious vegan. I honestly DON'T CARE what people eat or put in their bodies but I do take issue with obnoxiousness. We were out to eat at a restaurant one time with SIL, BIL, their kids and other family. SIL insists her kids be vegan but her husband refuses so he's enjoying eggs and bacon along with most of us. We hear her say to the kids "We don't like bacon, do we? Because bacon causes CANCER" loud enough for everyone to hear. That's just fuckinig obnoxious. I wanted so badly to tell her to cram it up her tight pinhole vegan ass.

do non-judgemental vegans exist? my best friend has been vegan for about 2 months which is totally cool. she came to visit me last week and, knowing this, i made sure to stock my kitchen with things she could eat and only ate at vegan restaurants or restaurants with vegan options. sometimes i ate vegan with her, other times i didn't. the times when i would eat meat or dairy, she would always have something snarky to say about it under the guise of "caring about my health". other times she would just stare at me while i ate with a disgusted look on her face. she never used to be like this considering she used to eat these things too less than 60 days ago. it makes me sad and not want to eat with her anymore.

My adult step son is not a nice person. He is really unkind to my H and his wife is a toxic bitch. They are two of the smuggest most self-involved people on the planet. I am done trying to have a relationship. My H can do what he wants and I don't say anything negative about them. But they are the worst. Her mom is a caricature of a controlling mom who is having trouble aging. Don't get me started on the sister who just had an "oopsie" pregnancy at almost 40 with her well to do boss at a restaurant. Rant over.

This reminds me of the time someone posted on our town FB page abt how they were trying to have a nice dinner at a local restaurant, but couldn't because these parents were letting their kids run wild, as well as chasing them. Suddenly this lady jumps on the thread to say how she'd lost her young nephew recently, and how she'd do anything to have him back so that he could gleefully run around like that and enjoy his life. How everyone should think about that and be grateful that the other family HAD their kids. My bff worked at the daycare that this woman's kids were in. My friend had to put the little boy in timeout because he wouldn't behave. The mom was so furious she threatened to put her kids in another daycare unless my friend was fired - which she was.

When I was a teenager, I worked summers at a restaurant that served fried food and ice cream. I had finished a 10 hour shift where the manager had been yelling at everyone due to her frustration at being short handed, and finally closing time had come around I walked up to the door and locked it. We were all cleaning for about a half hour, when the door opened and a woman in her 20's walked in loudly demanding to know why no one came to the takeout window to take her ice cream order. The manager quickly ran to the back to hide. I KNEW I locked that door. Anyway I said "I am sorry ma'am but we are closed" She said she wanted ice cream. I repeated "I am sorry ma'am but we are closed". She called me a very nasty name. I told her she was fat and ugly and should not be eating ice cream. My co workers all laughed. She didint say anything but looked like she was going to cry and walked out. I laughed along with my coworkers but felt badly after.

Now I'm calling bullshit. What is in blue cheese dressing that you are allergic to that's not in ranch? It can't be dairy, because there's dairy in both. I have Celiac disease, and I double and triple check and ask every time I order anything at a restaurant to make sure it doesn't have gluten or I play it safe and order the salad and bring my own dressing. And Celiac just makes me sick; it won't kill me. No way if you have an allergy that requires an inhaler, which means you can go into anaphylaxis, would you not do the same. And if getting your order wrong is the worst thing in your life, you're dong pretty well. It sounds like you're just a miserable person.
