Yesterday my son who is 11 came home (he has emotional issues) and was in a bad mood. I asked him for some help moving boxes upstairs and he started freaking and kicking things so I grabbed his arm to stop him. After he calmed down we both went about our day and I didn't think of the incident again. Today he came hone from school and mentioned he told the nurse at school I attacked him. I am in a full fledged panic has anyone Bern through anything similar? I would never hurt my son not to mention I am 7 months pregnant and he has a good 2 inches on me

I'm 35, and I'm not exaggerating when I say people mistake me for a 14 yo ALL THE TIME. What's my secret? I'm emotionally stunted at 13 and I wear my teen DD's hand-me-downs. I don't wear any makeup, but I do religiously moisturize my face and put on sunblock.

(This was gonna be a comment to the confession where the OPs sister didn't think that a courthouse wedding is real [wrong!], but it got to be large enough that I figured I should start my own confession and not hijack her confession.) My DH and I got married at a nearby park by his then-coworker who was able to perform marriages. We wore shorts and t-shirts. I wore one of my awesome tie-dyed t-shirts because I love tie-dye and always wanted to wear something like that to my wedding. Less than ten people were in attendance. We had cake back at our house, and the whole affair lasted maybe 2 hours in total. It was awesome! I had cut off my mother about 8-9 months before, but she knew we wanted a super-informal wedding and kept saying we should have a church wedding so that it "would be blessed by God," and also that her first marriage was a JP wedding and didn't work out. I said to her that God is everywhere and would certainly be at our wedding whether or not it took place in a church, and that her first marriage didn't work out because she married a psychopathic asshole, not because it wasn't a church wedding. My SIL also couldn't believe we didn't want a church wedding with reception, but she loves attention and is emotionally immature (my brother basically married our mother). I also stated to my mother that I didn't want a bridal shower because I despise them, and also because it wasn't necessary since DH and I lived together and didn't need anything to start our lives together. We were all set. Wouldn't you know that in a later phone call, she told me she picked up some bridal shower invites at a good price, and was planning on throwing me a bridal shower despite my wishes not to (DH and I hadn't even picked a date yet). Not for this sole reason, but a few months later I cut her off. Long way around to say that your wedding is just that- YOUR wedding, which means you can do whatever you want. It is just as real as any other extravagant or simple wedding.

I feel like some kids aren't made for school Because of my own experiences there. I remember so many incidents where my creativity and imagination was squashed. I don't oppose kids being educated and I think school does lots of kids a lot of good. But I think there are kids out there who are just ruined by it. I have spent years untangling the emotional mess school made of me, and although I was unpopular and a lot of kids were unkind to me, it wasn't like I was bullied. Just one of the kids that was shunted to the side, semi-ignored and semi picked on. I don't know the answers but I really feel school is there primarily to pump out good little citizens and not educated, intelligent individuals.

My boyfriend rarely calls me pretty or compliments me. We've been together for four years. And I feel pretty, so in that sense, my self esteem is fine with it. He always tried to act "manly" and unemotional and what not. One time. One time we had a conversation about the way I look. My boyfriend bawled like a damn baby. Tears in his eyes and voice cracking (I've seen him cry only once before this, and I knew these tears were real), he says, "Every day since we've started dating, you just keep getting prettier and prettier. It's like as each month goes by you change, and I find something new to love about your face." Honestly, that was the compliment of a life time. The sweetest thing anyone has ever told me. I don't need anything else.

I get really annoyed with my family. I have heard for years that family protects family and family does for family and family gives up so much for family. I have learned that this is bullshit because the way I have been treated is family does for family to the detriment to one of the members. My brother thinks that I betrayed the family by moving out, by marrying and moving far away. By not giving money or giving more help. I have not asked for help because I know that they do not have the means to help me, financially or emotionally. My brother and everyone has turned their back on me because I have sought independence.

No, I would not agree with you that the OP"s 12 yr old step son should have had the authorities called on him or that he should have been charged with assault. He is a child. A badly behaved, aggressive, violent, scary child, but not fully responsible for his actions. I think he needs help. I don't believe in throwing kids away because they are reacting to their lives in a way that is reasonable and understandable. I don't think it's right and I think action needs to be taken, but I just don't think calling the police is the way to go. Therapy. A lot of one on one therapy. He might be 12 years old, but his maturity may be way lower due to abuse, emotional or physical and an unstable violent environment. Kids are so resilient if you give them even a little chance and throwing him into the system isn't the way to do it.

Last night my BF and I did the deed for the first time. IT. WAS. INCREDIBLE. I had a hard time getting to the point where I was emotionally ready to be with someone since the breakup from my ex 8 months ago. BF was a trooper waiting for me to "be ready" - we've been seeing each other for 3 months. He told me I was definitely worth the wait. We spent the day in bed - and in the shower... and on the couch... and up against the wall... I forgot how much I loved sex!

OP here re: therapy with bf today. Even though I was emotional, we both finally got to speak about our needs since we are super accommodating to a fault I learned. It felt refreshing to speak directly since we've had a lot of miscommunication this past week. I learned that we both felt frustrated and I was harboring resentment like I was overly supportive while not getting any in return. I highly recommend therapy to couples at any stages in their relationship.
