I am the person that made the original post about white people smelling like wet dogs. I did not know it would start such drama. Like I said, I was around a lot of african-americans growing up and some of them made that comment when it rained. It was meant to be a joke, not meant to offend people. However, I have not posted anything about people smelling since then. I haven't gone back to look and see who is attacking this anonymous person but stop.

I really love my dogs, but I don't refer to them as my kids or put clothes on them. I spend a lot on them medically, but I don't call them my kids or any of that. I do want to take care of them properly.

I treated my dogs very well - I had the means to do so, one had special needs, and I was concerned about their health. A colleague, based just on my description of my dogs (who are no longer with me), told someone that I treated them like my children. Nope. No I did not. Dogs are not people. I'm GLAD dogs are not people. They were not my kids. I just did what I had to do to keep them healthy and happy in the way that I felt was best. HATE that she jumped to that conclusion. It actually embarrassed me to be described like that.

Well, my upstairs smells like a fart! My husband, & my dogs seems to make it smell like that. I wake up often thinking one of them shat themselves. Ugh, they did not but they all seem to fart a lot. Not sure how to get rid of that! I think a deep cleaning could help though. It gets ignored a lot for the downstairs.

And another thing, I hate it when people die and leave millions of dollars to their dog. Seriously? If you love dogs, great. Then why not REALLY help them out by leaving it to a rescue or shelter. If you just HAVE to leave money for Fluffy, I'm sure a couple hundred thousand should keep them living pretty large. Donate the other millions to a charity that helps animals who are abused or neglected.

Oh, I'm so glad someone started a dog post. Because I hate when people say their dogs are like their children. Really? You neutered your children when they were toddlers and put them down when they got to sick? No? Well, then shut up. They are not children. I've had both, and I love my dogs, but they are not kids.

I agree that some parents are guilty of taking their kids places that are inappropriate and letting them behave like little brats. However no one is worse than dog owners. Newsflash: unless it it a service dog, your dog does not need to go everywhere with you. Dogs have no business in restaurants, malls, or any other store unless it's a pet store. And unless you are in a fenced yard or a dog park, no dog should be off a lease ever. Not everyone thinks he's cute. Some people are afraid of dogs. Some people are allergic. Some people don't want dog fur flying all over them. And some people may just not want your stinky dog sniffing at them. I have seen a ton of incorrigible kids in my day, but I have never seen one walk up to a stranger and sniff their crotch or take a dump in someone's yard. Even if you pick it up, it's still gross. Seriously, if little Johnny dropped his pants and crapped in your yard, would you be OK with it just so long as someone picked it up? Somehow people think it's OK for their dogs to "greet" people by running up to them, touching them, etc. And I know a lot more dog owners who are OK with that than I know parents who let their kids run up to strangers and stand in front of them until someone pats them on the head.

I have a job interview today...that I have to walk 15 minutes to in the pouring down rain. I'm gonna look like crap and since we white people smell like wet dogs when we get rained on...I'm really excited about this whole freaking day!!

Yes, I shot at some woodchucks this weekend with a shotgun. They tear up the farm fields and are generally destructive to our firewood piles. It's not like I'm a sadistic murder or anything, I just enjoy shooting guns and if it can serve a purpose, even better. We didn't kill any--they were too fast for us. It's safer than poisoning them because the farm cats and any stray dogs that happen to come by won't accidentally get the poison.

I feel so guilty. My dogs are 7. One dug out under our fence friday & ever since acts super stiff & sore. I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow but if they say he needs expensive treatment that may not help, I'm not sure I'll persue it. Am I awful? I hate this.
