My dogs travel well most of the time but there are certain situations they don't do well in. I've learned not to take them to very large family gatherings (too many people make them antsy) and not to take them where you can be assured there will be many dogs (a dog friendly hotel). It's better in that case to just hire a housesitter. We do take them camping and they enjoy that!

Yesterday I took my cat to the vet for his annual checkup. While waiting I watched people and their dogs. The dogs barked constantly, snarled and lunged at each other, dragged their owners around the waiting area. The lovely (not!) finishing touch was the woman sitting across from me who tried to direct her yapping dog's attention to my cat in his carrier, then gave me a little smirk and said "it's a good thing your cat is in a carrier." I told her "yes, he has attacked dogs before" which shut her up. I know, #notalldogs, but get them some training! Intelligence is supposed to flow DOWN the leash!

The community pages I'm part of on FB are full of missing dogs who "unexpectedly" took off during the fireworks last night. Nope, sorry, humane societies, police departments, vets, etc have been posting for a week that dogs will bolt and to keep them inside. Irresponsible owners make me so mad.

You know what else is a conspiracy? Theme parks! Yeah, everyone is out there, sliding down big slides, eating corn dogs, keeping busy doing frivolous stuff! Meanwhile the government is plotting our demise! Bread and circuses, people! ; 0

Skinny hate, or any hate does not come across as self love or acceptance. I'm all for mantras like "Why should the size zeros have all the fun?" I like words of encouragement. That one isn't saying that skinny women are unattractive, just that they aren't the only ones who are. I agree with that. The more common ones, like "Only dogs......" or "Real women...." just come off as jealous anger.

I just found out my 22 year old daughter has been abusing our dog when we are not at home. I came home from work early. She tied his mouth shut and his legs together. She said she left him like that for a few minutes, and only because he would not stop barking and scratching the door while she was trying to study. We just got this dog, and yes he does need some training. A few weeks ago, the dog was barking and DD told him to shut up. DH began cursing DD out, telling her to leave the F---ing dog alone etc. DD kicked the dog (not hard). Last night, DH screamed at DD because she told the dog to move. DH is being ridiculous about anyone correcting the dog, but its not the dog's fault. We had dogs before and never had issues like this, so it not like we are first time dog owners. Anyway, I just left a message with a local dog trainer.

I feel bad about this dog we are sitting. She can see us and be near us, but can't be by us because she is SO misbehaved. We use her crate and block her in an area off the kitchen where she has access to the dog door and space to roam (laundry room too). She is just 15 feet from where we sit on the couch, and my dogs. She whines and wants to be "with" us but she steals my dogs food (my dog just came out of surgery, she almost died and has to be able to eat in peace, or she just won't eat and this dog bullies her out of eating) she puts her face in our plates (even if we eat at the table) this dog jumps on all our counters constantly, gets in the trash, and at night roams the house, knocking things over keeping us awake. My dogs are elderly and want to rest, she is constantly in their face. She never stops moving, I mean literally NEVER. I let her out to roam at times but when we have to work or sleep I try to put her in her area she FIGHTS me and takes off, and I spend at least 5 minutes chasing her. My dogs obey and lay down at our feet with a toy or what not. I wish people would train their dogs!!! We will NOT dogsit this one again.

Sometimes my husband is so annoying. We've been completely broke, so we've had to wait until he got paid today to do anything. Now I have to go grocery shopping, take the dogs in to be groomed, stop by the library, I have a doctors appointment, and I need stop by my school to get my financial aid figured out for the next academic year. What is he doing? He's upstairs "writing an email" to his boss, because his check was a little short and he has proof they need to fix it. He's been up there for an hour. I hear music and him snapping along, but not a lot of typing. I HAVE PLACES TO GO!!! But he needs to pick up his check, so I can't go until he gets his check. I wish he would hurry the hell up. He does this all the time. I'm always waiting on him, I'm all ready to go, shoes and all.

I highly doubt it was god's plan for the kfc employee to kick that girl out because of her scars from the dog attack. Reading the comments of her pictures and saying things like that sounds sick imo and I hope they never say that to the little girl. So it was god's plan to have dogs attack her? For the whole kfc incident to make her feel the way she does? How is that comforting?

I would love to have no credit card debt, 10K in our savings, 5K in our checking, and 5K in my investment account. I am so far from it. I am really going to work hard to make it happen. It won't by the end of this year, but I'm going to start picking up 2 shifts of overtime a month I think, and start trying to cut back on some things and at least make some progress. Maybe by the end of next year I can shave off some of our debt (the dogs ER bill, my student loan, and that 4K credit card at least) it will help. Currently I have like $100 in my investment account. If I can get even $1000 in there by years end, I'll be happy. If I confess it, I feel like I can make it more real and achieveable.
