When the movie "Wild America" came out, a local radio show was having contests where you had to be a certain number caller to win the VHS tape before it hits store shelves. I listened to the station 24/7 to listen for the contests, but I never won. About a month later, I called the radio station claiming I won and never received the movie. They sent me one, no questions asked. I was a kid at the time. I forgot all about it until now. I'm flipping through the channels and see Devon Sawa (swoon!) on a Lifetime movie. lol

Cats are an invasive species wreaking havoc on the ecosystem? That's really pretty funny. Cats are not an invasive species. Zebra mussels- those little bastards are an invasive species. Also - did you know that rabbits -yes common rabbits- are not native to North America? So when a cat kills a rabbit... who's got the ecological high ground there? Being 'not native' is only one little piece of what makes a species invasive. I truly don't want to get into the whole cat argument, but the invasive species thing was so funny -and so wrong- I had to say something.

This is SO weird. Last Apr, my friend told me her dh's business was doing *really* bad, and money was really tight. Within a few months, things took a turn for the better - drastically, it seems. She & dh went home to South America for 2 weeks in July, Italy in Oct. Last week, her ds (friends w/my ds) told me his parents are going to France for 2 weeks next month. And England in Sept. And they, him & 2 sisters are all going to Dubai for Christmas. Saw friend today and told her our house will be finished in Aug. She said, "I wish we could buy a house, but can't get a loan bc dh is self-employed, and we don't have a downpayment anyway." There are 5 of them in a 2br apartment, and she drives a newer Mercedes. She also has a mouthful of new teeth...

If you can't afford new appliances, you can get a policy from places like American Home Shield. It saved me thousands when I had a bunch of stuff die on me in a short period of time. Or you can look on craigslist and yardsale facebook pages for appliances...just make sure they work before you buy it.

I think stepping on the American flag is definitely inflammatory and I would personally never do so, but the freedom to do so is right there in the Constitution. That's what makes America great. That's what separates us from North Korea.

All these idiots that are stepping on the American flag need to find another country to live in.

Growing up, my sister used to eat mayonaise sandwiches too! She'd put a slice of Kraft American cheese on 2 slices of Wonder Bread and slather Best Foods mayonaise all over it. Gross. She still eats it to this day, in her 30's. I'm not sure why it grosses me out, lol. Maybe the way she eats it? I think the only way to make it worse would be to use Miracle Whip on it. Because Miracle Whip was created by the devil himself and is a surefire way to ruin any food item.
