I liked packing my own lunch because some days the food in the cafeteria was awful. One day we saw the hotdogs were purple. Another day the bread smelled like feet. It wasn't shocking because in our district public school kids got the exact same meal as the prisoners. It all was processed in the same facility.

I was walking ds to daycare an hour ago and got so mad at one of the people who lives along our route. Ds and I were walking... And I was pretty caught up watching him and for traffic. No one here shovels their sidewalks apparently so we had to walk on the shoulder and occasionally in the road. I wanted to make sure he didn't stomp in any deep puddles or fall, and that we didn't get run over. I had been hearing someone alternating between yelling 2 names, "jasper/Charlie come here!" From the time we got onto that road but because of echoes I couldn't tell where it was coming from. A couple houses away from daycare I suddenly hear, with great urgency "jasper, Charlie, come here NOW!" And look across the street to see 2 back Russell terriers barreling at us. I picked ds up because he's probably just a bit taller than them when they're on their hind legs and they start jumping on me, getting mud and snow on my pants. He likes dogs but idk how he'd feel about getting ambushed. No apologies from this guy, and no thank you when I keep one of them from getting hit by a car. If you can't control your dogs or be nice to people who save them, from injury at least, get a freaking fence!

I just found out my dog eats poop. I read that dogs that have been kenneled a lot sometimes do this. He was in a shelter for a long time. It can also be due to enzyme deficiencies. Poor guy. I'm going to take him to the vet. And I'm going to be on top of the poop scooping!

I told my dh that I want to adopt old shelter dogs so they can die in a home and not in a cage at the shelter. He vetoed that idea. Said he couldn't deal with the losses. Damn.

For the last 5 years I've followed a girls blog that lives on the other side of the country. She's married, CF, has two little dogs, and a fun creative job. Her and her husband seem like best friends and they seem to live life to the fullest. They are always trying new restaurants, going to concerts, movies, nature adventures, doing things with there small group of best friends, etc. Sometimes I find myself being a little jealous of her. lol.
