When my 19 yo dd asked me to take her for an abortion, I was devastated. I had always been "pro-life". She knew she was neither financially or emotionally prepared to care for a child on her own - bf dumped her when he found out she was pregnant and she didn't want to burden me. She is now 25, married to a great guy and happily expecting. She doesn't regret her decision when she was 19 and I realize it was the best choice she could have made. I'm proud to say I'm pro choice.

I could never have an abortion, regardless of the circumstances surrounding its conception. It wouldn't be the child's fault I was raped or something, why would I kill an innocent just because I didn't want to sacrifice 9 months of my life and give the baby to someone who wanted it? Yes, it's emotional involvement, but so is abortion. That being said, I do not judge women that do abort. That is their choice, and they have to live with that.

Troll: " ....in internet slang, a troll is a person who sows discord....by starting arguments or upsetting people by posting inflammatory....or off topic messages in an online community....with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response. " A researcher noted, "Trolling is a game about identity deception, albeit one played without the consent of most of the players. The troll attempts to pass as a legitimate participant, sharing the group's common interests and concerns." Researcher noted further that "...trolls can be costly in a number of ways," among them causing a group to become over-sensitized to troll activity, so that honest questions are often "quickly dismissed as trolling" which leads newcomers to feel put off. Trolls also cause "...damage the feelings of trust in the group,"

I believe my BFF is my soul mate. Not sexually, but emotionally. We met 12 years ago and within 10 minutes of meeting me she said, "I feel like I've known you my whole life." Totally weird, but true for me as well. We have been close ever since. I have lots of friends, but no one has ever been like her. And she feels the same way. Maybe we were together in a former life and our souls found each other again.

My cats have chosen a lifestyle I don't approve of. It's clear that they are gay. Also, they wear fur. It's clear that they wish to remain child free, and they're both having an emotional affair with ME. OMG I'm so glad that I can confess all of this here.

A non emotional friendship with someone means you are happy to see them. You are happy wheb they meet someone nice. An emotional affair means your heart races, you get butterflies when you see their car. It bothers you when they date someone. You feel pangs of jealousy when they admire another. You lay next to your spouse at night and replay all the events that transpired.....did you sat HIS name a little too often? Did you sound guilty?

I'm the other woman currently. It's long distance, so it's really mostly an emotional affair (we've had sex twice). I know that I should move on, and I have tried so many times, but the truth is that I am in love with him and life without him in it sucks. His marriage is over - they both know it - but he is going to stay because of the kids. It's not a happy situation for anyone. Never, ever thought I would end up like this. I tell him constantly that he needs to leave her, NOT to be with me - he would never move here - but because it's the right thing to do. I hate to be involved in this in any way, but it's taught me that love is not the picture-perfect forever-after that I thought it was in my youth.

If you find yourself closer emotionally with someone that is not your spouse, then that relationship either needs to end, or be drastically reworked. No, you can't help your thoughts, but sometimes the fact that you have those thoughts means that you need to work through things with your spouse, not go running to this other person.

If you don't understand what an emotional affair is, then obviously your mate has never HAD one. Mine has. Trust me, it's worse than if he'd had sex with someone else. Much worse. Undermines the trust worse than anything else possibly could.

You cannot just "get over" emotional/verbal abuse/discouragement that your parents inflicted on you from age 4 on. It seemed like they took turns. My mother was the verbal/emotional abuser when I was younger, then when I was about 11 or 12 and started showing interest in boys, my Dad would tease me to the point that I stopped telling my parents when I liked a boy at school. He would also reprimand me if he literally didint like the look on my face. Negative emotions-fear, anger, etc. were not allowed. " Be happy! Be HAPPY!! Stop being sad/angry/scared/disappointed..(etc)! Smile and be HAPPY!!NOW!!!" I would fake a smile to avoid actual punishment. One day we had a beach day planned. It was supposed to be sunny but it rained all day. I woke and saw that it was pouring, got the usual smile be happy command. I faked a smile to avoid losing another beach day when it did stop raining, then went in the bathroom, got in the shower and cried.I was 13.I didint go to my room because I wasnt allowed to lock the door. Later on I would be taken advantage of, especially at work, because-you guessed it, I was afraid to show anger, etc. . Now I stand up for myself. Sometimes I overreact to things. I was in a store buying 2 items and there was a long line. They opened another register and said they would help the next person in line. A woman with one item who was way behind me started to run over to cut in front of everyone. I got over just ahead of her, She said I should let her go ahead of me because she only had one item, I told her loudly "no, sorry, but I have been waiting a long time and I only have 2 items". I got a few dirty looks from other people in line, someone else offered to let cut in, but she just said "sorry, never mind" and went to the end of the line. I reacted that way because it reminded me of a time when I was about 14 with my parents waiting to get on a Greyhound bus. My dad grabbed me by the back of my jacket and yanked me back to let people get on ahead of us.I almost fell backwards, but he was kind then enough to yank my jacket up so I would not fall. Then he wondered why I was so quiet once we got on (I was furious and embarrassed at being yanked around like a dog on a leash) but I managed to convince him I was just tired all day. Yes I have thought about therapy, but I am not sure if I want to rehash everything.
