There's been a lot of controversy lately about Chris Kyle (American Sniper) and whether he was a hero or not. Some say he was a racist who enjoyed killing. As someone who has to travel several times a year for business to the area in Texas where Chris Kyle was from, I can tell you that pretty much every one there is a bigot. Not surprised if he was too. I am white. And when I go there, people think nothing of dropping the N bomb or making racists jokes around me. Apparently they think since I'm white, I wouldn't be offended by that and that everyone behaves that way. One time, I called out a client about an off-color joke. She replied, serious as a heart attack, "Oh, I'm not racist. I like n*****s." Yes, many of them are that ignorant.

I can't watch American Sniper because I am not 100% sure this guy was a great person, etc. Jesse Ventura was able to sue his estate and win because the guy made up a false story about fighting him.

So sick of Americans telling everybody what they do with their animals is wrong. I've had Americans tell me it's cruel to keep my ferrets outside, when in fact a study has shown that the lack of a natural photoperiod is one of the biggest factors in the massively increased risk of adrenal disease in addition to cruelly removing the scent glands and neutering at too young an age (two other things Americans love to do to their pet ferrets). So I ask, why am I listening to people telling me I'm irresponsible when you lot think it's acceptable to mutilate the tail, ears and sometime even voice box of your dogs, and mutilate your cats feet? All the lolz. Neutering your dog doubles the risk of certain types of cancer (including prostate), hypothyroidism and triples the risk of obesity. Obviously not neutering is not practical if you cannot control your dog to the extent that you don't even know it's in the house or not, and if your dog has access to lots of other dogs. But how about you put your ignorant ethnocentrism on hold for a second and realise not everyone lives the same type of life you live.

I checked out seasons 1 and 2 of Downton Abbey from the library. I'm going to binge watch those suckers tomorrow. Dh is going to American Sniper (I don't want to see it) and ds is going with my sister and niece and nephew to see Paddington.

I like Cristiano Ronaldo too. I too think his style may look a bit like a gay man, but that is in our Americanized minds. He is from Portugal, I think it is more acceptable to dress super flashy and stylish, with silk scarves on men, jewelry, etc. Either way, Ill take him!

I briefly worked at a daycare. It was a mess. No system of checks and balances, conflicting information on what we were and were not supposed to do, pertinent medical information not passed along, directors not wanting to report injuries to parents...I could go on and on. Anyway, there was a little girl with a beautiful but uncommon - in - America British name. One day I saw her mom pick her up. About 20 minutes later, a dad rang the doorbell - he'd forgotten his entry fob and was there to pick up his dd. I told him that his wife had already gotten her. He came back 10 minutes later, flipping out - his wife was still at work in the city, where the hell was his dd?!? Panic ensued. Turns out, there was ANOTHER little girl with the SAME NAME. You'd think they would have told us that! That was it for me. It was too much stress for what started out as a fun job.

I've never thought "America's Funniest Home Videos" were funny. They always made me feel bad because it looked like people were getting hurt or else really being embarrassed. I dunno...it just doesn't seem funny to me. And some of the videos were just dumb and you can tell they were set up.

My BIL is black (he is not African American, he prefers just 'black' thanks) and sometimes uses the word 'nigga' with friends. That does not make it appropriate for you to just throw around, so you call your friends 'bitches' how does that make it less offensive on other situations?

I hate spongebob and attribute it to the decline of American youth. Seriously though, I really really hate spongebob. It is one show my kid will never watch in my house. Too many colors, loud noises...no.
