DH and I have thought around having a baby, but my biggest fear is that the child will turn out like my stepson. Stepson is 9 and something is just not right. He is very immature emotionally and fearful for his age. He does well academically, but has problems with the other kids, DH has to go to the school a few times a school year when he gets into fights. He has no sense of "coolness" or fitting in with other kids.

My DH just told me he's been having an emotional affair. He's extremely lucky that he nipped it in the bud before it got physical. I am still wondering what I did to make him do this to me.

One of my oldest friends (we're not that close anymore, but I've known her forever) is having her doggie put down today. Should I drop off a card? Flowers? They're having it done at home, so I don't want to drop in such an emotional time, but if I mail it won't get there for a couple of days. Maybe I'll just drive over and leave a card in the mailbox, but not ring the doorbell or anything.

Childfree bingo goes like this, "What do you MEAN you don't want kids? You just haven't met the right guy yet. Wait until you hit thirty, then that clock will start ticking. What do you mean you don't want kids? Who will take care of you when you're old? You know, it's TOTALLY different when it's your own child. It's the greatest love you'll ever know. Childfree people just never grow up, they never realize true love. They never will experience the joy of raising kids. Childfree people are selfish and emotionally stunted..." and so on and so on

Even though its only been a week since we met and have just had two dates, OKC guy and I have been talking/texting everyday since he left for his home state. We have said we like each other, but will take it slow. He won't return for another 3 weeks. I like that we're building a strong emotional connection first. I hope to also continue working out my baggage I have so that I'll be ready to embark on something wonderful when he returns.

I can't stand working with people in their 20's. They think the world revolves around them. Today, in a meeting, the manager asked a 25ish "woman" to read a passage to the group. She said, "No, I am in a bad mood, and I only want to listen today" I would have sent her home. The manager just asked someone else to read. Another "woman" the same age gets very emotional and/or defense about weird things. She wanted to see some training notes I had from another meeting. We were told not to share training notes. She said, "Never mind, the notes are obviously very personal to you" and turned her back to me like a petulant child.Prior to that, she practically cried when she disagreed with a company policy about building security. Yes, little snowflake, you do need your security badge on at all times.. I cannot wait to retire and get away from these special snowflakes. 75% of them are whiny and defensive.

My self esteem went up 1000% after leaving my dad's house. I now realize it was him that was holding me back, convincing me that I could not handle living alone because I was "too insecure" along with occasional verbal and emotional abuse.

I hope one day us women, daughters, sisters, friends etc; will learn to realize that not everyone will be the person (parent, sibling etc) we hoped and wanted them to be to us. As soon as we let that go, we can live a much better life. Not necessarily without them, but just knowing they are who they are and has nothing to do with us, we can be a better parent to our own children. It took me years to realize my mom was not going to change to the mom I've always wanted. I've since become a more clear person and a better parent to my child. I chose not to get stuck in the past. ( my mom was a nice woman, wasn't abusive, but just wasn't like all the other moms that cooked/cleaned and emotionally available)

If you think you are "tiptoeing around your grown childrens' feelings" maybe it because you were verbally or emotionally abusive to them when they were younger, and now that they are adults, they no longer tolerate it.

I don't think people even know what the difference between lust and love is anymore. Seems like it is just formed into one big emotional ball these days.
