DH spends so much time criticizing DS's table manners, like not using knife correctly, not putting glass down in the right place, not sitting up straight, that dinner time is miserable. He doesn't yell at DS, but he doesn't seem to notice the food. He doesn't engage in conversation. He just seems so tense and he's making me tense. In my book, that is a lack of table manners. What is the point of sitting down together? I promise he will learn to use his knife, just please, for the love of god, take a breath and let's have a nice dinner.

I can go months without smoking. Then it warms up. After the kids are in bed I love sitting on my back porch in the dark with a cigarette, enjoying the silence. Just one a day, never more.

Have you tried those snap pea crisps? (Called "Inner Peas" at Trader Joe's.) They are AMAZING! I don't eat cheese anymore, so they're like cheetos to me. I'd rather eat them than popcorn at the movies. Love love love them. And they're peas! Who'd have thought?

Freedom of Speech. I think if people don't want reactions/responses to what they say, then they shouldn't say it. If a person says something, especially out in the open for billions of people to read, it is not logical to expect those billions of people to not be allowed to have their say. There is a lot I would love to confess, but I don't because I know how some people will react. That is why I have an online journal, set to private so no one can see it, and I post things there. I think allowing response posts is good because it allows for more activity on slow moving boards. Although there should be rules attached to allowing responses. Such as: no calling people out by name, no bullying...etc.

I want a lover, even though I adore my boyfriend and want to be with him. There's this one other guy I haven't been able to get out of my head going on two years. To the point where I think I wouldn't mind if my boyfriend slept with someone else too. Open relationships don't actually appeal to me though. I think that special intimacy would be lost. Or does my ongoing infatuation with this other guy mean I'm not in the right relationship? I'm so confused. :-/

If I were making the list, I'd put creating a "hugs" button above adding profile pics. I think adding the "hugs" touch to the confession stream might accomplish what the compliments are doing - adding a personal "touch" for those who are in need. I loved that idea on Truu and was sad it never got implemented. I would like it a lot.

A friend mentioned something to me about how I'll find the man of my dreams one day who is everything I ever wanted, and my real, gut feeling is that that is such a crock! No one can be all those things for one person. I truly don't think it's going to happen. I can't imagine it at all, and I'm really not even looking because I think it's ridiculous. But at the same time, I want to be deeply loved and love in return...but again, I think maybe that's just such a crock. Just a lie we tell ourselves.

Weighing in on the profile pics issue: I think making it an option for those that have an account is nice. I figure that if you don't mind having your name attached to your post or response, then you also wouldn't mind having your chosen image attached. Want to stay anonymous? Don't make an account or don't login. Just two cents from someone who loves her anonymity.

Someone actually disagreed with me the other day that New York is the greatest city in the world. And I was like, "you are wrong." :) [Seriously, I think there are LOTS of great cities out there. I just happen to think that NYC is the greatest among them. God I love that town.]

I guess I really just needed Truu to be an anonymous place for me to vent because I really never noticed anyone's names! It's so funny to me that so many folks remember each other! Maybe that just means that I am too self-absorbed to care about the other posters? ;) And at the same time, that's why I don't want to have an account, because I really don't want my posts to be linked together to form an "impression" of me. I love the anonymity.
