That was the good thing about the guy I just ended things with. He didn't make fun of me. He didn't insult me. It was so refreshing. I still have to reflect on it from time to time and revel in how that felt to not be the butt of his jokes. And it was so unlike my ex-husband. It's true that saying that "it's a joke" is toxic behavior. If a man really cares about you, he'll consider how his words feel from YOUR point of view, instead of defending his stance. It's mean, thoughtless, bullying behavior to insult and degrade the one you allegedly love.

Crazy how quickly he ran. It's true what they say about men: when they want you, they come after you; when they don't, they run away. I doubt I'll ever hear from that guy again, and we are just over one month after the day he finally told me he loved me.

Dear Deb H, shame on you for forgetting your worth! You are beautiful and your strength should never be questioned. Take some time to pamper yourself soon. Always know you are not alone and that your compassionate heart deserves to be guarded but still open enough for new adventures in love and life. I could so easily become that crazy vegan that talks to everyone about it all the time, because really, it's the best thing I've ever done, and I'm so so happy eating this way, and I love that I'm making healthy choices for myself and saving animals and the environment at the same time. I try to keep my mouth shut because I really don't want to be annoying about it, and I'd never impose my beliefs on someone else. So I'll just confess this much here, and then shut up about it. But still: yay plants! :)
