So a lot of folks are posting some pretty racist stuff on Facebook, namely some neighborhood pages. I guess since their personal FB page is private, they don't think about the hate they spew on other pages. Rather than waste time arguing with them, I've been taking screen shots and sending them to their employers (thanks LinkedIn).

I know what's going on right now is both horrific and historic, but DH has been watching the news coverage ALL. DAMN. DAY. For two days straight now, from the minute he gets up until he falls asleep at night. PLUS he simultaneously watches protest videos on YouTube and Facebook and it's all he can talk about. I'm an empath and this non-stop negativity is stressing me out. It's 11-effing-PM and I sent him upstairs so the rest of us can chill on the couch and watch TV for the first time today.

I'm on here confessing this because I'm a bitch enough to think these things, but not a bitch enough to say them to people: I browse old high school classmates on facebook and often wonder A) How TF did that person get SO FAT? B) Was this person in an accident that resulted in head trauma? How are they SO STUPID? C) Holy mother of god- was he/she ALWAYS such a racist bigoted asshole? How TF did I miss that growing up? D) Is that even his kid? Seriously- how did THAT kid come from the two of them? ... Okay. Flame away if you feel the need but there it is.

My granddaughter’s high school graduation was to be May 17th. My son’s gf’s twin daughters’ was to be the same day, 100 miles away. The gf posted on Facebook that they’re having a live graduation and my granddaughter will give her ‘valley victorian’ speech (I shit you not!). Problem is, my son’s ExW has already planned online festivities and granddaughter knew nothing of the crazy gf’s plans until today. She’s afraid to disappoint her dad, but wants to go ahead with her own plans. Did I mention I despise our son’s bat-shit crazy gf?

I work with a nurse who is an attention whore, and covid has been her time to shine. What's funny is that she doesn't even do direct patient care anymore, but her 1600 Facebook friends don't realize that and are eating her bullshit up like crazy.

And just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, I was just notified that a package was returned to sender because of "No such number." I have the daily delivery digest thing. I looked. The name and address is perfectly fine. The company put the order number above my name and address, and now they won't deliver it. Our carrier is an asshole. He doesn't deliver half our stuff which is why I have the delivery digest. There's actually an entire Facebook page dedicated to how bad he is. That's all frustrating enough, but the package contained my daughters' Easter present. I filed a complaint (again) but even if they get back to me, it will be too late. I really don't think I can do this much longer.

I'm a healthcare worker. I'm a little over this "hero" business. Most of us are showing up because that's our job. We do this day in and day out. We're not doing anything that much out of the ordinary except for the sheer volume of it has been overwhelming. But yeah, this is the kind of work we do. Dirty, sometimes dangerous, seeing people die pretty regularly. I'm not downplaying the pandemic at all. But the maudlin, sappy videos I've been getting sent lately (replete with country music and patriotic hands-over-heart bullshit) is getting nauseating. Instead of videos how about donating some things to those in need? How about helping your elderly neighbor with groceries? How about stop fighting about politics on Facebook? How about supporting those in need ALL THE TIME instead of just when it makes you look good?

I got into a debate with a former Facebook friend. He said the ZPak antibiotic has been proven to cure COVID-19. I respectfully explained that antibiotics are used for bacterial issues, not viral. He went off on me, calling me names and referring to my vast ignorance. This guy is a local radio personality! I told him to quit being a dick and do research instead of quoting Dr. Oz. I unfriended him, not because we have differing views, but because he’s an ass.

I posted this on another site that I think others here read. I was curious about others' opinions: I was just perusing a Facebook group I'm in, and the name of a poster caught my eye. I have only seen that name ONE TIME in my entire life. I looked it up, and saw that only 20 babies have been given that name since 1880. Also, 1997 was the year that had the highest record of babies given that name - 14. Meaning that only 6 children had been given that name in the previous 117 years.I looked at the profile of the poster. Yep. She had been born in 1997, so obviously she had been named after the little girl who had been murdered in 1996 - JonBenet Ramsey. How do you all feel about giving a newborn the unique name of a murdered child? I personally find it really disturbing.

I feel the same about the social media vegan accounts I follow, and Greta Thunberg. The people that follow every move of these accounts so they can leave angry and ignorant comments don't seem to realise that when you obsessively hate-watch somebody, you're actually helping them in Facebook and YouTube algorithms. A dislike is still engagement, and a comment even more so, whether it's positive or negative. It's so funny watching Greta's Facebook comment section devolve into an angry mass of seething middle aged man hatred, because they're all such fucking boomers they don't realise they're only making her more and more and more famous lol.
