I don't think prostitution should be legal. I think the women should be helped, not charged, but the people (usually men) involved should be receiving legal ramifications. To me, it's like dog fighting, everything about it is bad, it is not valuable to anyone, but we don't legalize it do that we can tax it and make it "better" for the dogs. That doesn't solve the harm it does, it just makes it easier for them to be abused for profit and entertainment.

I don’t know about dogs, just about our own dog. But two ideas - 1) we taught our dog to go to her “place” - I don’t know where that is and sometimes she doesn’t also lol, but it means out of the way and she usually leaves and goes under a table. We say it to her when she starts getting under foot and it’s dangerous, usually in the kitchen. 2) our dog usually sleeps in her bed but I bought a second bed for a diff room, that might help about tripping? Is she guarding you guys or new doors are closed now? Good luck

I love dogs. But I hate how judgemental everybody is about how other people keep their dogs now. Like judging people who cannot afford to feed their dog expensive raw food diets or even the best quality kibble, or this new idea that you can never have a dog if you work at all, down to people judging others for the types of leashes/harnesses they use (I know those extending leads can be dangerous, but you can educate somebody about that without being a total dick). I guess dogs are only for rich retirees. I know you shouldn't get a dog if you can't afford it, but the barrier seems to be getting placed unnecessarily high. I'd rather see a rescue dog in a home being fed not great quality kibble than being put to sleep by a shelter who probably fed the same sort of kibble anyway, because shelters aren't feeding their dogs Orijen or whatever, there's just no way they're affording that either.

The shelters where I live are awesome. They don't even sell dogs or cats in the any of the local pet stores. Instead, they work with the shelters and only have animals that are up for adoption. Like you said, they only euthanize when it's absolutely necessary. Their community cat program is awesome too. I wish more people would educate themselves.

It infuriates me the way most people around here treat their pets. I guess maybe it's because we now live out in the country and I'm used to city living, but people let their dogs run loose, let their cats run around all over the place and if they get hit by a car, it's like "Oh well". Like WTF?? I keep my cat inside and my dog is always on a leash unless she's in the fenced area. People think I'm so overprotective but I'm sorry--I want my pets to live, thank you very much.

Dh’s sister, her dh, their two small children and their dog are staying with us for a couple of days so they can go to the state fair. I worked M-T, 10 hr shifts, starting at 6:15 am. I had a long tiring week. I did the bare minimum around the house and dh did most of the cleaning. I’m waiting for them to make some kind of tactless comment about my “dirty” house. It’s not super clean but it’s not like messy, it’s just lived in. It’s kind of smelly because of my poor geriatric dogs accidents, but I’m not going to throw him in a kennel and keep him locked away because he has accidents. He doesn’t mean to and he’s old and he would be sad if he was kenneled. Sil and bil keep their yellow lab in a kennel roughly 23 hrs a day. No exaggeration. I would never do that to my old man. He’s my special doggie.

As someone who enjoys her alone time, and rarely gets it, I seem to attract needy people. All the friends I’ve made don’t like to be alone and seem to think that when they hear I have plans to be alone that they’re doing me a favor by ruining them and showing up unannounced or calling/texting me excessively until I make plans with them. I’m not even alone right now, and I have one friend who is losing her g.d. mind because her boyfriend isn’t there and she’s “alone” at home (2 dogs that are always in her lap) and won’t stop telling me I should sleep over because she’s scared. I already told her no, ds’ school is here and I’m not asking anyone else to do the morning routine with him or waking up 2 hours early to get him to school so we can sleep on her couch. I don’t do things on weeknights because he deserves stability and we both gotta be up in the morning. She’s already called me 3 times knowing I don’t like to talk on the phone and have the worst reception at home.

I'm a woman in her early 50's. I have a masters' degree and 25 years' experience in my field. I own my own home and have two dogs and lots of friends, a grown child and investments to help me retire comfortably. To be truthful, I've met men who seemed very interested in having a long-term serious relationship with me but I was not interested. It always seemed like they were looking for a cushy deal. A nicefr home to move into or less financial stress or help raising their kids. I was always the one to end the relationships. I didn't need another job to do and too many men seemed like projects that needed work. No thanks. And I'm not lonely at all. What's a man going to do for me that I can't do for myself?

I binge eat too. Anything. Fruit's good, right? Not if you eat the whole bunch of bananas at once. They say apples and almond butter makes you feel full and is healthy. Yep, ate about 6 apples and the whole jar of almond butter in one sitting. OK, so don't have food in the house that will trigger a binge. Well, I have driven 50 miles at 3:00am to find an open store so I can binge. I cry almost every day about my inability to stop the binge eating. I've been to countless therapists over the last 20 years. I've been medicated for it, even hypnotized. Some medications worked, but with all of them, you build a tolerance and they stop working after a few months. I remember binge eating when I was as young as 4. I used to sneak and eat whole packs of raw hot dogs.I truly think there is some kind of chemical imbalance in my brain that doesn't allow it to react to food like normal people do, which is why certain medications work until I become tolerant to them. It's a living hell.
