You don't have to explain yourself to this asshole. Yes, I'm going with ONE asshole, maybe two, despite the multiple fake me toos and omgs. Anyone who has been there understands what you're going through. I wish you nothing but love and strength, and I know that the other emotionally well-adjusted women here feel the same. If anything, feel good that you don't have to troll an abused woman on the internet to get your rocks off.

Your emotional response over eating dogs vs. eating cows does not erase the racist comments against Asian people that were posted here. American slaughter houses are equally vile when compared to meat markets in other countries. Period. Even the milk industry in America is disgusting. But we're 'Mericans so we're better, right? We dip live chickens in boiling liquid, but those poor, poor dogs are tortured by those mean Asians. Seen why it's a fucked up, racist argument, Karen?

I get complaint #2 and #3, but as for #1: I don't hate my life, but I am missing large segments of it. Yes, I love spending time with DH, and cooking, playing board games and catching up with people via zoom. But that isn't my whole life. I perform at small events and teach aerial yoga (that income is gone). I take care of my elderly dad (nope), I hug my friends, especially those that don't have anyone else (guess how their emotional well being is right now), I visit my brothers (who also live alone), and I go on mutli-day camping trips with friend who is getting a divorce (and is stuck in a house with her soon to be ex). I do triathlons (all canceled, and I can't even train for swimming), and surf (not allowed). I go to Burning Man for the one week I can completely be myself (canceled), and I dance at live concerts (guess how musicians are doing financially). I will stay at home until I can go out safely, but I am missing a huge portion my life, and can't wait to get it back.

Last week I let a lot of things I have no control over get the best of me and was in bed for several days. I'm determined to make this a better week and take care of things I have control over like my mental, physical, and emotional health. I can be resilient in light of everything happening.

My mom is so fucking frustrating. If she doesnt get her way, she loses it and cries for days and yells that everyone hates her. I used to order her vitamins for her, but she would never pay me back. I did this for a year. Now I've refused and shes all up in arms because I wont do it. I told her I'd order with her cc, since she refuses to use internet except for fb to whine about all the perfect ppl, but all she heard is that I hate her and Im refusing to help. I cant deal with the mental and emotional manipulation anymore. I just cant. I will miss them when they're gone, Im sure, but I can't deal. I don't know how.

My mom died about a year ago. My dh and I were having issues at the time (unrelated) and weren't really communicating. It continued through my mom's death and the aftermath. Eventually we got back on track, although there are still some communication problems. After we talked it out I asked him why he wasn't there for me when my mom died and his response was "I don't know". Not really a valid reason imo. I'm finding myself still resentful about this. Plus worried that next time I need him emotionally for something serious he won't be therefor me.

as someone's who's overweight due to an autoimmune disease, i totally understand how you feel. actually, Stormyweather's response kind of proves your point. if someone's super skinny, people have empathy and/or think of alternative reasons why the person may look the way they do (cancer, etc). fat people don't get that kind of grace. if you're fat people's first reaction is that it's because you're a glutton with no self control around food who's destined for a life of diabetes and sadness. not that it could be due to medication or an eating disorder or a hormonal imbalance or emotional issues. nope. you're just a fat POS.

During my fast food binges, I would feel extremely guilty afterwards and pay my brother almost every time I had fast food. Thinking this would help me not eat fast food again since I'd be literally sending 25 sometimes 100 bucks or something. It didn't work. But with the start of 2020 and realizing I'm the unhealthiest I've been, I wanted to stop feeding my emotions with food. Today was a very stressful day at work and I wanted to emotional eat, but I knew I would feel so guilty for breaking my streak. So, I messaged him and said I just made 20 days without FF. Jokingly said I should get a refund. He said congrats, immediately sends $20 (mind you he isn't working right now). I felt so touched by his gesture, I definitely want to keep it up!

I've decided to leave a toxic friendship this year. I'd rather be friendless than be someone's emotional punching bag.

My New Year's resolution is to quit eating fast food. I've struggled with emotional eating all my life, but a lot in the past 6 years. My most recent fast food binges has caused my weight gain. I enjoy eating cooking and healthy foods, but my cravings for processed crap has become a really bad habit especially after long, stressful days.
