Have any of you women had to start over at 48 or older? DH and I have been separated but living together all this time. He's an alcoholic and went on a tangent how he loves me but he doesn't want to be with me. Good. Because I've felt the same way forever. He's upset I dated someone when we separated. He's the 1 who was having an emotional affair that made me separate and date in the 1st place. Any way, I'm on SDI now and am looking for a job. We own a house, have been married 28 years and we've both had it. He wants me to move out. Yeah right. He's pissed because he pays almost everything right now. I've worked almost our whole marriage except for a few years when our kids were born. He says he's not going to pay me alimony. I'm uncertain about my future. I have office skills, but have been with him my whole adult life. Suggestions please.

Do you have a celebrity freebie list? Forever, my list of 5 has been just Matt Damon. However, I grew up, my tastes changed, and frankly he’s just not appearing in my life darnit so I have to cast a wider net. Now my list also includes Tom Hardy .

i try supporting small, local businesses in my area whenever possible but, with the exception of 2, they've all let me down in one way or another. I'm trying to make repairs and upgrades to my home and they've all either not called back, took forever to call back, showed up hours or days late, or didn't show up at all. We tried to get a screen door replaced that broke because they (admittedly) installed it incorrectly and it took almost a year of back and forth before the company finally did it. there have been many times when i've had to call on a major company to do a job because the local guy fell through in some way. sad to say but i may have to go with the big guys from now on. i know they can fuck things up too but i feel that they have been more reliable and quicker than the smaller ones, at least in my area.

I think there are two types of moms: The ones who can't wait for their kids to grow up and leave and the ones who want their kids to stay babies forever. DH and I both got parents who wanted us gone ASAP and my sister's MIL never wanted her kids to grow up. Her MIL is a lot more involved in her life and her kids' lives. My parents and ILs barely ever even call us. I wonder what it would be like sometimes to have parents who never wanted me to leave.

Dude, I haven't had chips ahoy cookies in forever and I just ate three of them. I feel sick. They're not good, I mean they taste good. But five minutes later they suck. I feel like I ate acid.

That's because it's too unsustainable for 99% of people to completely avoid sugar forever. It's just super hard and takes soo much willpower. Not saying it can't be done, just that it's hard as hell. Sugar is everywhere.

I think we spend way too much time focused on all the reasons we are a victim of something, like the caregiver scenario, and not enough time focusing on how to stand up for ourselves, and not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of. I have a friend that is forever telling me one tale of victimization after another, all the unfair bad shit happens to her. I think she is looking for attention, and a lot of this didn't happen. When I ask her why she puts up with some of this shit treatment, she can't answer, or has an excuse. I just tell her that she will continue to be treated poorly as long as she continues to allow it.

Oh, yes I am, and my husband is the king of it. I always know when he's gone back on his word and bought another wildly expensive item without discussing it with me first, because he lays the love on thick. And he does it again after he's done something shitty. Recently he was going on and on with the "I love you so much, I'm so glad you're my wife," and I said, "Okay, what did you do?" He goes, "I hate when you say that, can't I just tell you I love you without insinuations?" I told him he always acts like this when he's done something he knows will upset me, so I asked again. OH YEAH. Turns out he'd bought ANOTHER $400 guitar when he'd spent $500 on a guitar and amp just two months before. Trust me, I'm on my way out, too. Not gonna live forever with dishonesty.

I do not miss our old postal carrier. He was so lazy he never put our mail in the actual mailbox. He would lay it on the porch rail and half the time it would blow off into the driveway or fall onto the porch. He did this even when it rained and I had lots of ruined magazines and other mail. Once my W2 ended up in the driveway and if I hadn't grabbed it, it would have been lost forever. Our mail carrier now that we moved is 100x better.

If you don't have any medical issues, you don't need to give up any food or food groups to lose weight. I did it too just by cutting calories and getting a fitbit and moving more. And I still had my sweets, my carbs, etc. Moderation and portion sizes are what helped me. You have to make a lifestyle change that you can stick with, unless you're ok giving up carbs, dairy, etc.. forever. Otherwise the weight will eventually come back, and then some.
