Nope, bff is getting a divorce and her husband is living with his mother. She claims she had to report her because, in her position (county commissioner) it wouldn't be right to ignore a nurse who is treating kids while using cocaine, especially on city property. If she hadn't reported her, I would have. I'm also a nurse. Despite what she did with my bff's dh, there's no way I would sit on that info. She's a RN. She could literally kill someone's kid because she's stoned. That isn't okay under any circumstance. I understand the differing opinion, though.

Ooooh, bff's mil not only ripped into her son for being a moron, she had the other woman fired from her job. I know this is gonna start some shit here, so lemme 'splain. Mil works in local govt. The other woman is a nurse at our county's juvenile detention center. Bff mentioned to mil that the other woman was carrying on about being high in a few messages. Mil called her job and had her drug tested. Chick got fired for having cocaine in her system and will be reported to the state board of nursing. This whole situation is messy and I just needed to vent about it somewhere not irl. Bff is living in a nightmare right now, and the petty side of me is not sad that she's gotten to see the other woman, who talked shit about her, get canned.

Any of you ever have a kid that hates to bathe? My niece is 10 and hates showering. She's being picked on in school pretty badly. My brother is at his wit's end with her and asked me to talk to her. I'm having a girl's day with her this weekend and plan on taking her shopping. I'm a nurse, so I have no qualms about having the 'you're a tween mammal, wash your butt' conversation, but do you guys have any suggestions for motivating her to want to wash her hair/shower? I'm going to try to make it about hygiene & self-care, and buy her some of her own toiletries, but what motivates a kid to bathe?

Lol, SD doesn't live near us. She and DH were Facetiming and I heard this from the other room. She is LITERALLY the most dramatic person I know - she also "literally had a heart attack" when her DD fell off a slide. God forbid one of her kids gets a cold - constant frantic updates from home and Urgent Care and fervent requests for prayers. She's a nurse FFS.

I'm a nurse too and I wish I could me too this 100 times. I live in a city with a large medical community and there is literally only one physician with a private practice that I would trust, and it's because he split from a hospital that was tanking. My mom stayed with her family doctor for years and just couldn't figure out why he wasn't associated with any other physicians. When I went into the medical field, I found out it was because he had a horrible reputation and no one would associate with him. When his practice was finally bought out by a large healthcare system, he was only in practice for another year before they forced him to retire. And he was *gasp* white. So, yeah, some doctors suck but their race has nothing to do with how well they practice medicine.

I've been a nurse for 20 years. This is asinine. There are good doctors and bad doctors. It depends on the individual. In my experience, the bad ones open a private practice, because no group is going to allow their practice to be brought down by one bad apple. I can name five white physicians off the top of my head who've opened their own practice because they were quietly removed from a group for being scary, shitty providers. The only thing they have in common is that they're all men. Sounds like you just want an excuse to be racist.

You're a nurse but you're using the term late-term abortion. You know that's not a real thing in the medical world, right?

The nurse here again. Yes, they do. Very rare, but they do. Doesn't mean that women who want or need a late-term abortion for medical reasons should be denied that right though.

Snoring is definitely a divorcable offense. I wish I'd divorced my heavily snoring ex before he had a stroke due to sleep apnea and became disabled. Maybe he'd have gotten help before that happened (not likely but one can hope). And maybe if he hadn't become an invalided handicapped man in a wheelchair, I wouldn't have had to become his full time caregiver and give up the job I loved to nurse him as he continued to abuse me. Due to my experience I'd divorce a snoring spouse if I ever found myself in that hell again.

If you're a nurse, then you understand that human beings aren't robots, and what's good for one person could be horrible for another, and that your opinion doesn't factor in at all when it comes to doing what's best for the patient.
