So...what have you done to help ensure that this dog doesn't get seriously hurt or killed? Have you taken pictures and given them to the police? Or do you just watch him do this over and over? If the latter, you're part of the problem. Help this poor animal!

I find the ALM people particularly amusing. So, it's ALM when it's about the police officers, Republicans and entitled people BUT it's not ALM when it has to do with brown people, black people, LGBT rights, the rights of people who don't want to be shot at a Walmart/church/concert/food festival/school/home. It's not ALM when they are also applauding Trump allowing for children to be held in cages (b-b-but those policies were made under Obama-true HOWEVER the children were only seperated from their family when the child was in danger from a relative). The good guy with the gun is only a rare example compared to the mass shootings. In fact, a study in 2017 shows that reveal carry has only increased gun violence. The "good guy" with the gun is likely to attack a civilian than the criminal. Spout ALM when you are arguing for better gun control because ALL LIVES have the right not to have their lives end at the hands of a fucking lunatic with a gun.

Nearly 10 years ago, I got a phone call from a strange number at 5am. It was my boyfriend of two years, asking me to pick him up - from the police station. He'd been arrested for stealing, which was to fuel the drug habit I didn't know he had. I immediately went no contact. I saw his mom at the grocery store the other day (she didn't see me), and out of curiosity, I Googled him when I got home. He's been arrested countless times since then. DUI, giving false information to the police, public menacing, suspended license, driving under influence of narcotics & without license/ins/reg, witness tampering, probation violation, fugitive warrant. Most recent was another DUI, on my birthday. Oh, and three arrests for willful non-support - he owes over 30K for his two kids. He actually had a successful business for a while, that the gf after me set up and paid for. My mind is blown. Drugs...no bueno.

Wow, that's crazy. I don't know where you live, but where I live the state police are on top of this issue. My XDH was arrested and kept in jail overnight for being just over a month behind. I hadn't even noticed he was behind- I was letting the balance build up so I could take the kids school shopping and hadn't even looked at it all summer. I'm sorry you're going through hard times, I hope it gets better.

A toddler went missing from a campsite on state land near where I live in the middle of effing nowhere. Wandered off while her family was packing up the campsite. She has autism. This was early yesterday morning. It thunderstormed on and off all day yesterday and last night. They had canines and helicopters and state police and DNR....they found her jacket a few hundred yards from the campsite. And today around lunchtime, she wandered up to a house on the edge of the woods. Alive and well, albeit she'd lost her shoes. I cannot even imagine what her parents went through these past 27 or so hours.

I'm in NJ. The police are on our pages and said it's been helpful in identifying some of the kids.

Are you in Connecticut? This goes on here too. The kids almost got hit a few times, police have done very little. As for taking pictures, I am pretty sure you can take pictures, especially from a reasonable distance, in public

I also live in a bit of an affluent area, and they do the same thing here - but they flip-flop. Someone will post about it, and tons of people say, "Post a picture!" They do, and are then shamed for it. Right now our issue is a group of kids on bikes, "swerving." That is, they purposely bike towards a car and swerve out of the way at the last minute. Or will be riding parallel and act like they're going to cut in front, giving the driver a heart attack. Everyone says, "Post their pics so we can find the parents and shame them!" The other day a guy posted a pic of a group of kids on their bikes, saying, "Parents, if you recognize your kids, PM me. I've already spoken to the police." People went nuts saying it was an invasion of privacy. Then another guy posts a pic of himself with other kids on bikes and says, "Such a respectful group of kids, I don't know what you are all talking about." UM those weren't the same kids!!! I say, shame them all!

I'm the 1 living with the alcoholic dh. We're separated too. He was screaming and yelling carrying on like a lunatic tonight, flipped the coffee table and it hit my stomach so I called the police. He's never done anything like this. Slammed doors, cabinets and dishwasher, but not flipped furniture. Me and ds aren't working right now and I just got my last unemployment check. He's pissed because we haven't found jobs yet. I told police I don't think he meant for it to hit me so they didn't arrest him. I recorded so much of what he said tonight and he doesn't even know. He said a lot of mean nasty things. Please pray me and ds get jobs and get out of here soon.

When it comes to abuse, it can be VERY easy to normalize it. My DH used to verbally abuse me constantly. When a therapist told him it was abuse, he told her that I DESERVED it. When he said that, I told him I'd leave if he didn't get himself under control. No one EVER "deserves" to be yelled/screamed at or made to feel less than an adult. He also used to scream a lot when he was mad about random stuff and once a police officer was outside and heard him and the officer actually asked me (I was outside escaping his screaming fit) if I was going to be safe. So yeah. Abuse that's not overtly physical can be the hardest to fix because a lot of times, it was normalized in older generations. Just because that's how it used to be doesn't mean it's right.
