I just find it pretty sad that people would want to trade being vibrant into a very elderly age for the host of health problems a Western diet causes? Not to mention the environmental devastation caused by all that factory meat farming...China adopting a Western diet, with population size, is a pretty serious blow to an already bad situation. And we all have to live with the ramifications of that. I don't think sugar is "evil" and I had to google to figure out who Robert Lustig is. Sugar is just one bad factor in a really terrible diet with too much refined carbohydrate, poor quality meat laden with antibiotics, caffeine and fuck knows what else.. I do think a standard American diet is truly awful and it's horrible to hear that the rest of the world is starting to eat modelled on a country with the highest rates of some of the most preventable illnesses there are. China is already seeing sky-rocketing diabetes and obesity rates. Why don't you shovel a Big Mac in your mouth and stop acting like I'm some racist to think it's awful that THIS shitty diet is one being adopted in an area of the world that include the country with the longest living people on the planet.

I read this guy's Facebook. He is so racist. He says Obama is no good because he does not do special favors for the black community. He says banks, gov't, should pay blacks reparations. White people should pay the too. My grandparents weren't even in America until the 1950's. Slavery is over, today's whites do not owe today's blacks money! But then he also made posts that all white people are devils and he wants all of them dead. WOW.

Looking back over my Facebook feed, pretty much everything I've posted that is personal and not about news items or opinions, could be considered bragging. Finally hit 27 laps for my roller derby minimum skills, lost X amount of weight, just bought my new skates today (complete with picture), trip to Prague (which is an extremely cheap location from my part of the world), planning for a big volunteer trip to a South American country next year. Truth is I make minimum wage and I'm studying and I work very, very hard, forgo small things and save very hard to be able to get those luxuries, and those posts are spread over months, it's not like I can click my fingers and buy whatever I want. The only reason I can afford them is that my partner owns his flat outright- no mortgage (and he slaved decades in a job he despised in order to do that) so I don't have rent and in that sense I'm lucky. If people don't want to know these things about me, they can unsubscribe or unfriend me. This is my life and I'm sharing it. I don't think I'm better than anybody and I cherish these luxuries when I can have them. Frankly I'd rather hear about the good in people's lives than listen to people constantly bitching and whining about every little thing. Negative nellies annoy me far more than braggers. I understand sometimes shit stuff happens and you want your friends to know, but I'm talking about the people who post multiple updates a day and they are pretty much all negative, vaguebooking or digs at other people.

If we deported the illegals, that means the American employer will actually have to pay legal citizens the minimum wage (at least) plus all the taxes that come along with that (workers comp etc). Illegals aren't the main problem, American employers that hire workers off the books (illegal or American born) are also the problem. Once the undocumented can work legit, they too will have to fund a war and pay for welfare for American citizens that are too lazy to work.

I always see people talking crap about Republicans and Christians being so judgmental and close minded. I am not saying they aren't because I have met many in those categories that are but Democrats and non-Christians are just as judgmental and close minded as well. There is always someone on one side saying the other is wrong. Everyone needs to just do their thing and keep their nose out of the other one's business. This country is screwed up not because of religion and politics but because everyone thinks the entire country needs to view things and live just like they do. A Christian does something and non-Christians attack them for their views. A non-Christian does something and a Christian attacks them as well. Same with politics. It is so exhausting listening to everyone battle their views. Americans are immature brats always whining about someone not liking what they like or being politically correct. People need to get their heads out of their asses and start dealing with the fact that there are millions living in this country and there are a million different ways to live your life and view things. No wonder the rest of the world think Americans are such spoiled idiots because that is how everyone acts.

One of my best friends is Native American Indian. She said in their culture, the men/husbands/boyfriends never come in the room to see their babies being born. Her daughters did it that way too. Only women allowed.
