DH is very irritable when SS is here. I talked to him about it again and he finally admitted it. He is frustrated with his ex who will not share the driving at all ( we live an hour away)ever nickels and dimes him when she earns more than DH, and talks to him like he is a piece of garbage . He is frustrated with SS who is very dramatic and immature emotionally for his age and has to be told over and over and over and over again like a toddler to do something. DH got nasty with me yesterday for no reason. DH switched the weekends so we don't have to have SS for Memorial Day weekend. I haven't had a 3 day weekend in over a year and DH and I don't want any problems. SS and his nasty mother don't like it, too bad.

Please pray for me. I binged today. On food. I feel like shit physically and emotionally. And it's the emotional part that hurts more. Why can't I just control myself? I'm addicted to food and I need help. Intellectually I know how to eat healthy, how to exercise etc, but it goes beyond that. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck-Me.

I know I need therapy because of the verbal and emotional abuse, and bit of neglect my parents put me thru as a child. I tried to talk to them about a few times, even confided in my finace at the time, and all I got from my parents was , "We want you to stop telling people that you were abused. We took very good care of you. We lived in the most expensive areas so you could go to a good school and worked hard to pay for it.Yes we questioned and disciplined you when you did dumb things. Discipline is not abuse!!" So its ok to humiliate your 14 year old daughter because you spend a lot of money to live in a very nice town? This shows how clueless people can be. Someday I will go to a professional and talk about all of this. That instance where my mom found that letter was just one example. They would overreact to very minor things, but only sometimes so I never knew when it was coming. I didint realize how badly my parents had treated me until my friends started having kids.We also moved about 15 times before I finished high school. I went to 3 different high schools..We moved because we could not really afford to live in these fancy areas. I do realize other people had it much worse as kids, but that does make my situation any less sucky.

My parents went thru my stuff-everything from opening my mail and going thru my handbag when I was in the shower. My mom read my diary when I was 14 and was practically laughing about it when she told me, then started crying when I got angry. A few months prior to that I wrote a nasty letter to a classmate, never intending to give it to her, just needed to blow off some steam,no threats or anything like that, my Mom found it, didint say anything to me, gave it to my father, and then one night they sat me down and put me thru the Spanish inquistion for about an hour over that stupid letter. First my dad asked me if I knew anyone named -------. I said yes she goes to my school. My dad asked do you get along with her? I said no not really she dosent like me for some reason and calls me names and tries to get other kids to to do it too. This went on a good 15 minutes- all kinds of questions- What names? Why? Who else? How often? How long? Where? How? Do you call her names back?Who else heard?Do you say anything back to her? When was the last time? Where was the teacher? Why dosent she like you? (I honesly had no idea why she didint like me) There must be a reason why she dosent like you! Tell us why right now!?! By then I was near tears, and then my father pulled the letter out of his pocket and read it aloud. I had never meant for anyone to see it, it had a lot of swearing etc in it, so I was ashamed and humiliated. He read the whole letter, it was less than a page, but by then I was sobbing, and kept saying "Im sorry, I didint mean for anyone to see it" He kept reading the letter, swear words and all. Then, questions about the letter- Why did you call her ----- in the letter? How long ago did you write this? Why did you keep it? where did you write it? and so on. Are SURE you were not going to give it to her? (at least 5 times he asked this) How long were you going to keep it? Why did you use that terrible language? WHY WHY WHY, and so on.After about an hour, the questioning stopped, I had stopped crying, as I was leaving the room something funny came on TV, I laughed a little thru my tears, and my dad turned to my mom and said, "See? She is happier now that we talked about this!" Then turned to me and said, "Right??Right? RIIIGHT??!" I nodded just because I wanted to go to my room and be alone. I knew if I didint agree there would have been more interrogation and I was literally sick to my stomach. My dad thinks I had a perfect childhood. He is of course older now and does not remember this or any of the other verbal/emotional abuse I was put thru as a child.I was supposed to go to religious education that night, but my parents had me stay home, because "you are going to learn something at home tonight" What I learned was that I cannot trust my parents or express my feelings. Was I really expected to be happier after an hour of embarrassing interrogation? I was embarrassed and uncomfortable at home for weeks.

It Is Still Abuse If . . . *There has not been any physical violence. Many women are emotionally and verbally assaulted. This can be as equally frightening and is often more confusing to try to understand. Abusers often go from verbal to physical abuse. *His physical abuse seems minor when compared to those you have read about, seen on television or heard other women talk about. There's no “better” or “worse” form of physical abuse. For example, you can be severely injured as a result of being pushed. *The incidents of physical abuse have only occurred one or two times in the relationship. If he's injured you once, it is likely he will continue to physically assault you. *The physical or verbal assaults stopped when you became passive and gave up your right to express yourself as you desire, to move about freely and see others, and to make decisions. You shouldn't have to give up your rights as a person and a partner in exchange for not being assaulted. I was an abused wife and give you this advice from my heart.

I love my mom. She's funny, smart and loving. She's an awesome cook and great housekeeper. She's also an alcoholic and smokes like a chimney. She barely eats and she gambles. Her vices have nothing to do with us kids and she's never let us feel as though they were. I don't know her struggles in life to where she thinks these vices are healthy for healing (if she even had any struggles, she may just like doing these things!) and I hope she doesn't pass with emotional pain. That said, she was and is a good mom to us and I'm glad she knew how to love and rear her children regardless.

OP who knows who my "one" is, and has no desire to be with anyone else. Through out my life, I've dated many guys. Quite a few were for years, was engaged twice but I broke them off because it didn't feel right,I even had a child and married the father. I loved my xH, but I wasn't in love with him. After my marriage ended, I dated. Then one day, I took a chance on going on a date with a guy who had no picture on his dating profile. Something told me to give it a try. From the day we met in person, we both knew this was something amazing. He never introduced any woman to his family, ever. Within 2 weeks, I met his whole family. We spent a year and a half knowing we were each others "one". Bad things are keeping us apart right now,it is possible some day we can be together again. I know I would be able to love again...but there is a difference in loving someone, and knowing who your "one" is. My parents and my uncle didn't lead sad lives, they were all quite happy. Just because we're not with someone, doesn't mean we're not happy. I'm leading a happy life in other aspects. No one should depend on being with someone else in order to be happy. Occasionally I am able to communicate with my "one", but we're not emotionally dependent on each other.

I broke up with my bff, she just wasn't i expected in a friendship. It was all about her and i felt as though i needed to make up for her ruined past from others. She was emotionally exhausting. I'm not a therapist. I was a friend. Sorry you had to let you go MD, but I just couldn't invest myself into and get nothing in return except judgment in my parenting and relationships. It was toxic-I had to go.

I started Chantix to help me quit smoking yesterday. My quit date is 5/1/14, and I'm excited, but I'm also REALLY nervous. Last time I tried to quit (cold turkey), I was an emotional wreck my about 26 hours in. Couldn't stop crying, it was a disaster. According to my doctor, that's what the Chantix is supposed to help with, but I'm still pretty nervous. I'm not even sure the medicine will work, and I'm afraid it's just going to give me mental problems (black box warnings)...but I'm trying really hard not to psych myself out. It feels good just to get that out.

Nothing like eating whole foods to perk up your mood and mouth. I think if I emotionally eat, it should be only healthy stuff like tonight's roasted asparagus.
