just because your dd has your grandchildren does not give her the right to emotionally "blackmail" you which is what she is doing. so the grand kids go without lights? they'll live. she has to learn to live her life as an adult, which means paying your own bills, taking care of your own kids, being responsible ect................ you're only hurting her by giving in to her.

Last one week at the daycare. It was not my intention, but I had to get out of there ASAP. Boss was a dramatic diva that hardly ever worked, but was an expert mico-manager. The job was more exhausting mentally and emotionally because all the sh*t she would say behind our backs constantly asking my coworkers how we felt about one another, coming in when parents were picking up kids to ask how our day went, etc. She put her needs first and foremost and kept on inquiring why I wasn't more available. Now I'm having to fight her for my overdue paycheck. Ughh...

My mom used to emotionally blackmail me when I was a kid. She would do whatever she could to make me feel guilty. I barely have a relationship with her because I finally realized how toxic she is. I always thought that I was the one with the problem and it was a huge weight off my shoulders to learn that SHE was the one with the issues.

I have depression and anxiety with a slight tendency towards obsessive thoughts. It started when I was a kid. I get by day by day using calming methods. People wonder why I won't have kids but it scares me to think that I may be like my mom and hurt them physically and emotionally like she hurt me. I want a child but I don't want to ever hurt her/him. I am better educated than she is, older than she was when she first had her children and better off financially. Sometimes I think I would be a good mom but then my mind flashes back and wonder how could I be a good mom with the example I had growing up?

DH had an emotional affair with a woman we both know. He SAYS no sex, and it didn't go on for long. I don't believe him. I'm sure they DID have sex, and I know it was going on for several months. We start marriage counseling next week. If he doesn't do everything in his power to make it up to me, I'm kicking him out. Which makes me sad... he has no car, no job, and nowhere to go. But he should have thought of THAT before cheating on me.

My MIL is Mother Gothel from Tangled. When I saw the movie the first time my jaw dropped. How did they capture her personality so well without ever meeting her? Even the whole wanting to be young forever. She emotionally crippled all of her children. I just got the least damaged one.

Well, I'm not a wife or a mom (and super happy about that), but I confess that I am DONE with that guy who was doing the in-house separation with his wife. He still wasn't ever going to leave. I knew that, but I needed proof. I got it. It was more of an emotional affair rather than a physical one, but still I'm glad that we're done for good.

I wish I could hate my mother. I forgot, again, that I cant be friends with her. I have to be the submissive, emotionally abused and manipulates daughter that she tries to live vicariously through. I'm an adult, with my own child, and I still feel like a 12 yr old inside. I'm not mentally ready for anything past 7th grade. I need help. I hte her guilt trips, I hate the way she treats me, but I can't make myself cut her out of my life. I'm afraid.
