I've had a miscarriage. Several years ago. On Fourth of July. And it hurt. Not so much physically, yes there was pain, but more-so emotionally, that hurt more. I was nearing 10 weeks in. Confused, sad, angry, happy, guilt, anxious, shaky, thirsty. The chaos that surrounded me was other's fun and laughter. No one had a clue what was going on with me. And for the most part, I didn't even know what was going on with me. As I went to the bathroom to change my overflowing pad for the about 7th time in 2 hours, I realized it was too late for me to want this pregnancy. I didn't want to raise another child. I was in my late 30's with three teen children already. My relationship was uncertain. I didn't trust him. But it wasn't this unborn child's fault. I completed the miscarriage physically that night and not only was my womb empty, but my heart was more empty. I was heartbroken and sad and still guilty, Did I wish this on myself? I used to be very emotional every year after as the fireworks burst in the air, but not just for America's Freedom, but for the life that could have been. If only I hadn't wished. My relationship blossomed into marriage and we went on to have a child. Now every Fourth of July, I will celebrate Freedom and life. There I said it. Time to let it go.

The government might want to deport Sofia Vergara because of her ass-hugging clothes, but not 8000 illegal child immigrants. I say let's outfit all of them in ass-hugging skirts as soon as they cross the border and then back they go to Central America. Problem solved!!!

Wow, I think my German friend & my Italian friend (well, both are married to Americans) are doing more to celebrate US Independence day than I am. I usually don't do squat. I don't have the chance to, really. Oh well.

Why is it that as soon as racism is brought up, it's assumed that the person is talking about black and white? There are other nationalities that are discriminated against. Native Americans, Dutch, polish, Indian, etc.

People are so very misinformed! There are scholarships for EVERYBODY! I hope you're up in arms that the right handed kid didn't qualify for the left handed scholarship. Or that the Muslim kid couldn't qualify for a Catholic scholarship. Oh and heaven forbid your child was too tall to qualify for the 4'11 student scholarship. I am African-American, and *gasp* I went to an inner city school. I qualified for exactly $0.00 in financial aid from the school, because my parents made too much money. I'm sick of people extolling that minorities are stealing all the scholarships. I got a scholarship to college that was merit based. So many people said, I was picked because I was black and it made the school look good. If you want a scholarship read a god damn book, study hard and get one. They're is no race criteria for them. Also, it's not a minorities only scholarship. It's for people of low economic status. I take offense that you call it entitlement as well. I won't bring up racial injustices and how sad it is that affirmative action was necessary, because heaven forbid I offend anyone by saying minorities get treated like crap in comparison. Please dear lord don't think I'm pulling the race card. White people, actually people as a whole owe me nothing but respect.

Some people might bring your race into it because there are scholarships and grants and things of that nature that only african american students are eligible for.

Remember the Montana judge who sentenced the rapist teacher to 31 days after his victim killed herself because she looked "older than her chronological age"? He just sentenced a vandal to 5 years for shooting out windows with a BB gun. God Bless America.
