I am the OP with the bipolar DH who has issues with my dog. He used to be on Lamictal and Lexapro and did great. I am done arguing with him about medication. Waiting on the carpet for the other house now

Update on my DH--he is bipolar--he has been on Lamictal now for over a month and he is like a totally different person now. He doesn't freak out as much when things happen and he doesn't have fits of rage anymore. I'm so glad he is on this med. I wish we would've gotten him on it sooner.

I have a sister with bipolar disorder who I have ried to have a relationship with for many years. At this point I think it's time to cut her off and be done. She has been in and out of jail since she was a teenager, she has stolen from all of us. She's been in rehab five times. She says horrible things about every single family member behind their back's but acts k sweet and vulnerable to their face when she needs something. Last time I had her over my house she hooked up with the local drug dealer in town, spent the entire week high, left garbage and half eaten food all over my house, insulted my husband numerous times, almost let my dog scape into the street and never even once offered to pay for anything. We are done. My mom and dad keep begging me to try again to have a relationship with her, they think I am cruel to cut her off but how long do you let a toxic person take advantage of you?

26 year old dd is at it again. Moved in with us at the end of February to save money so she could move to Vegas. Had 2 jobs. Quit 1 job. Met a guy. Bragged about him all over fb. They broke up. Probably because of her. Just got fired from 2nd job. I swear she's bipolar! I also asked for my 250 for rent. No response. She's been on her working out, eating right kick. We all know it will go back to drinking and acting stupid! I told her she has to go. I seriously can't stand her. I love her, but don't like her. Thank God she doesn't have kids! She always blames everyone else for her problems. It was her boss, it was her coworkers, it was a guys fault! How can someone be so messed up????

I am the OP with the DH who is bipolar and has issues with the dog. Going to pick out my paint colors this week, then rugs. Dh started with my dog yesterday. I told him to leave her alone and he stormed off. She looked up at me with a sad look. I picked her up and whispered in her ear, "I am so sorry baby, not much longer now"

I work in a hospital and the other day my CW was going on and on about how scary the "psych ward" was because the patients were bouncing off the wall in the padded rooms and screaming and going nuts. She made some comments about how they all needed lobotomies and shock treatments so they'd "calm down forever". I calmly mentioned that my DH is bipolar and has never really needed a padded room or a lobotomy. She looked really shocked and finally shut her stupid mouth. I don't always love that my DH is bipolar either, but it makes me so angry when ignorant people start spouting their mouths off about what they think mental illness is like.

Praise Jesus. My DH has decided to listen to his psychiatrist and go on lithium for his bipolar disorder. I really, really hope it helps him. I can't deal with him sleeping 18 hours a day on weekends and not wanting to do anything and then suddenly becoming a hyperactive, angry, raging bully the next second anymore.

I am the OP with the DH who is bipolar and has issues with the dog. He still refuses to speak with a therapist. I am on track to get out in June or early July if all goes as planned. I am hanging in there. I do not pay attention to him anymore when he starts one of his rants, because I just don't care anymore. I am also working on losing weight to help with my back pain.. 10 pounds lost so far!! Several friends have volunteered to help me move.

I'm one of the posters with a bipolar DH--the one who pointed a gun at me and was screaming. He has been taking his meds regularly and we realized his serious change in behavior was caused by him changing jobs. He has been offered his old job back at his old company and he wants to take it. I think that will help his mood immensely. I have an escape plan if I need it and although I do love him and want to work on things, I can't let him abuse me. He's working on finding other ways to cope and I'm trying to hold it together. I have a lot of support from my family. I think we'll be okay as long as he keeps taking his meds.
