If the company sends an email to all 700+ employees reminding them to make a minor adjustment on timesheets due to the holiday, please do not reply to all 700+ employees just to say you made the change. How do people not know this? Seriously. And this is a professional cybersecurity company, so everyone is at a professional, college-educated level. It's not like it's a bunch of teenagers working their first job.

How did I gain three pounds in one day???? Thanksgiving dinner was the only meal I ate yesterday. Don't get me wrong, I indulged- turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, one roll, but I didn't have seconds. I did have two slices of pumpkin pie and a late night snack of more stuffing. Thoroughly enjoyed it! But THREE POUNDS IN ONE DAY? I used to love the leftovers but I need to leave them alone! No pumpkin pie for breakfast, no turkey sandwich for lunch, no leftovers for dinner! This was my first cheat day since June and I am so annoyed right now, but I'm going to get back on track NOW! I didn't work this hard to lose 32 lbs to undo it all over the holidays. Not gonna happen!

100% agree. The one and only time I ever tried to get help, through a community organization because health insurance doesn't cover mental health, and OMG. The first session I told the guy my mother died when I was little. And I was struggling to leave a toxic relationship. Second session? Start talking about said toxic relationship and the guy told me to go live with my mother. And he was looking at the notes he had taken at the first session too. I never went back. OH! OH! And also, they sent me a bill for several hundred dollars for the sessions even though I signed up through a community outreach free thing. Lovely. You're 100% correct.

I live in Texas, but I'm not from here. I've never really loved it, but now it just gets worse by the day. It's a racist, sexist, backwards hell hole and getting worse. I plan to leave in a couple of years when my youngest graduates from high school. Both kids, who were born here, feel the same and are looking at colleges in my home state. What makes me mad / sad is that Texas passes voter suppression laws, abortion laws, doesn't fix it's power grid, etc. and faces no consequences. Why aren't companies boycotting Texas? Tesla decided to set up shop here. Samsung just announced a huge plant. No on gives a shit about the women who can't get health care or kids who froze to death and will freeze to death since nothing's been done to fix the power grid. It's all about making money, and it makes me sick.

Just saw an ad for a basic warehouse job where the employer had inflated how much they were were going to pay by like 15K a year, then listed the actual hourly rate in the ad. If that's legal, it really shouldn't be. I love that employers are just bending over backwards to lie and exploit people even harder instead of you know, paying people fairly. There's plenty of people making obscene money in these big companies, but they'll continue to say it will increase their costs instead of IDK, considering reducing their profit margin by a fraction of a percentage. gross.

As someone who has worked in patient care and administration, I don't know which abuse is worse lol. But yes, let Gen Z handle the Boomers, as they should. I hope you love your new position. At the very least you can rest assured you won't be pooped on. So there's THAT. Haha

I did it! Finally secured a position that has zero patient care! Never had an admin job before, and I'm a little intimidated, but soooo excited to not be abused anymore by a-hole patients. I loved nursing; I devoted my entire adult life to caring for others, but I'm done. This generation of elders broke me. I miss the cranky WWII vets. I'm gonna let the Gen Z nurses handle the boomers. I'm out.

I turned 40 back in January, and, lemme tell you, this year has been glorious. If there was one word to describe this year, it would be SHEDDING. I've shed so much this year and I ain't talking about hair. Ideas, beliefs, people, a job. If it doesn't add to my life in a positive way, I've removed it. Setting firm boundaries can get ugly, especially with people we love, but it's so incredibly worth it.

I found out my 12yo thinks I love my 5yo more than him. Because 5 can eat anything(12 has gluten and dairy allergies), 5 doesn't have chores (12 only has 3), and 5 needs closer attention because he's 5. I tried so hard not to be my mother, that I ended up even worse! Apparently he's been telling both grandmas that we play favorites. It's not fair to 5 to be treated like a 12yo, and 12 can't be treated like a 5yo. I thought I was doing pretty decent with them, but now I'm rethinking everything. I need to change quickly.
