America negotiates with terrorists to gain the release of a deserter. Unreal.

I love Family Guy and American Dad is OK, but I think every movie Seth MacFarlane does looks incredibly stupid. I tried to watch Ted, but it was just as stupid as I thought it was going to be. A Million Ways to Die in the West looks even more ridiculous.

I'm wondering if a vocational school would be a better route for my DD. She's interested in massage therapy and occupational therapy (assistant). She doesn't want to be in school for the next 4 or 5 years either though. But she also doesn't want a school that's just going to screw her over, even though it may be less in cost. The school we are looking at seems pretty okay and decent and they said they were accredited. (american career college) She wants to make the right choice in all the right ways, financially and education wise.

My ex used to rant about how American culture has become too coarse. All accompanied by his nonstop potty mouth. I would have laughed about it because he is a major contrubutor to the decline of culture, but it was too disgusting for even a laugh.

I think if more people focused on raising and guiding their children to be mature and respectful hard working young adults then American wouldn't be in the crap hole it is in today. With each generation it gets worse and worse. People step on others to get ahead no matter what the cost. They focus on the glory of fame and fortune rather than being a good person. No one takes responsibility for their actions anymore. If someone robs a store or gets in a fight or cheats there is always an excuse to blame it on some other factor and it is never their fault. People are lazy. They want to make big bucks but do very little or even no work at all. Everyone is too worried about having the latest phone or $500 purse or shoes instead of taking the times to sit down and enjoy what they have and teach their children to be gracious for the small things in life. Living modestly isn't bad like some make it out to be. Raising a child with manners and the ability to work hard and think for themselves says more about you than what you own.

I spent years with the wrong man and I felt like Sleeping Beauty...when she was in a magical coma that is. I barely did anything except sit in front of my computer and eat. One year on, I'm back in college, I have a guarantee for a really great job, and I spend my free time doing all the things I wanted to do but was too lazy to do before...joined a gym, I do adventure sports, things like paintball, quad biking, climbing and surfing on the weekends, and I've got some great new hobbies and friends, and I'm planning a trip to Central and S. America soon (I'm a Brit so much further from home than for most people on here!) Anyone out there who is in a relationship they don't want to be in: I know it's hard, but be brave. Your life will improve so much when you have the courage to make that break.

My oldest dd has a very unique name. I chose it for its uniqueness and the respect it garners. She is named after sacred Hindu texts and in more vague terms, means "knowledge". Her name is simple and cool, but very unusual. Haha, her middle name is Ashley. I gave her a common American middle name in case she didn't appreciate the uniqueness of her first name. She loves it though. I knew she would :)

I've never participated in any online voting or anything like that for a TV show. I read an article that said America's Next Top Model will have Chantelle Brown-Young as a contestant in the upcoming season. CBY is a beautiful Jamaican model who has vitiligo. I think it would be kinda cool to show my support.
