I grew up with crap smelling Asian food and was healthy and nutritious. Very little was fried. Lots were boiled, steamed, simmered or eaten raw. Fish was supposed to taste and smell like fish for example. I find many American recipes try to hide it under breading or disgusting sugary sauces.

Miriam Carey was an African American woman that was shot, and now known that she was shot in the *back* of her head by White House police. First they said she was terrorist threat, then they said that 34 year old dental hygenist wasn't. Then they said she was on drugs, and now the autopsy shows not a single trace of drugs in her system, and that she was indeed shot in the back of her head. If this would've happened during the Bush presidency, people would be mobbing that place and rioting everywhere. Obama has been at war, covert or otherwise, just as much as anyone else, murder is happening by his police right on his doorstep, he is screwing the middle and lower class with healthcare and faking the true numbers because most that signed up are the one's that lost it because of it, and he is breaking constitutional law daily. That certainly is "Change".

I hated school breaks as a kid. Not the break itself, but going back to school afterwards. My parents were poor immigrants to Canada (I was born there) They worked 18hrs 7 days a week. No lie. Supervision was very, very minimal. I'm not sure it would be considered legal these days. We lived above where they worked (mostly). We didn't go outside (bad neighbourhood). We didn't vacation or travel (no money & no time). I barely had any recognition of birthdays and stuff like that. Definitely no parties. Christmas was barely any presents and parents worked that day too. It was weird and awkward. For years. Well imagine going to school and your teacher tells you to write a story about your break after you get back. I was smart enough to know my situation was funky. I didn't want to lie but I couldnt' tell the truth. I also wasn't imaginative and it was hard to come up with something acceptable by North American standards for the teacher. Kids would be sitting there having difficulty writing because their skills were still developing and I was having a moral crisis. It all seems so crazy to me now. I just hope there's more sensitivity these days to the issue of poverity.

I didn't think American Hustle was all that good of a movie. Maybe i wasn't in a good mood or something when I watched it but I just couldn't get into it.
