Why do so many religious people support Trump? He's NOT a religious man, he's NOT against abortion (although he pretends to be now), he DOESN'T care about the poor, the elderly, children or the vulnerable. He's a billionaire narcissist who's out for himself. Why on earth do so many self-proclaimed Christians like this man?

I've heard some of the craziest crap out of conservative so-called Christian's mouths, I mean really off-the-wall crazy shit. I think if they were told to drink the Kool Aid because it's going to take them to a new planet they would do it.

"Already happening in England"? Uh....no. Another example of far-right fear mongering and fake news. I'm more afraid of the alt-right faux-Christian violent and bigoted hatefulness than anything else.

I actually belong to a Facebook group for Christians who feel betrayed by their church for promoting Trump. In fact many are so at odds with what their religious leaders are promoting they are thinking of leaving their church....even their faith...altogether. The page is run by pastor John Pavlovich (not sure I spelt it right) but he is SO clear and loving and open even some non-religious folks follow him, well, religiously! Excuse the pun.

When I was in college, Bush was running against Gore and I was involved in a lot of campus Christian groups that basically brainwashed us all into voting for Bush. That if we didn't, the country would be this horrible depraved place to live, etc. I have to wonder if something similar didn't happen with churches getting people to vote for Trump. I know so many people who voted for him because they felt they "had no other option" and now really regret their decision.

Buzzkill alert! I would absolutely love to see Trump crash and burn, but if he's impeached that means we're stuck with Pence, right? The religious extremist who believes in torturing gay teens with conversion therapy funded by tax dollars. The zealot who tried to force HB 1337 on the citizens of Indiana. The moron who fucked education in my state when he was governor. He openly wants anyone who isn't a rich, white, male Christian under his thumb. This is not an improvement. In many ways, it's worse, because no one suspects him of being capable of disgusting fuckery. Yeah, Trump is a fuckwit, but we're fucked either way until we have a decent administration.

I think the idea that people can't be a person of faith and a person of science is pretty narrow minded. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive, and there are plenty of scientists who are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, etc. Of course there's some crazy fanatics out there, but to paint all people of faith with the same broad strokes is just as crazy as believing that God hates gay people. Not saying anyone here is like that, I just personally know people (one atheist, one pagan) who are like this. Generalizations don't help anyone. By all means, fight against the crazies, but until someone inflicts their religious doctrine on you, their beliefs are none of your business.

I wouldn't want to be friends with someone who always told me I was wrong. I'm a heathen pagan, but two of my dear friends are devout Christians. One is nondenominational, the other is a creationist. To say we disagree on major issues would be putting it mildly. However, none of us are dicks about our views. We have some awesome discussions. We respect each other enough to not have to be right, and instead try to understand where the other person is coming from. It's pretty cool. I never thought I would be close to people with their beliefs, but I'm glad I am.

My Christian pro life friends were very happy when Aaron Hernandez killed himself. Especially that the rumor going around about him being gay or bisexual, it was like a bonus Going Straight To Hell.

We moved 6 months ago and I haven't made any friends where I live. It's an affluent area and women are either super religious (I'm a Christian, but more private) or judgemental. It's so hard!
