For some reason, this while vape argument reminds me of the time someone started an argument about medication. They said if you take a med for a long time, you're an addict, which has no basis in reality. It's funny how emotional people get over stuff they don't understand.

Vape shop owners, who follow the laws, have safe products, and do not sell/advertise to kids, are about to be shut down because of this idiotic rhetoric. You do not have the right to take away someone's livelihood because you're having an emotional response to misinformation. Don't like vaping and think it's stupid? Fine. But quit spreading outright lies. You look dumb and people's jobs are at stake.

I emotionally overate this weekend and woke up Monday feeling extra bloated. I went in to the office building, but couldn’t manage to get to our office. I immediately turned back to go home and call in sick. Depression and work burnout sucks. Meanwhile a coworker did have to call in bc her Grandpa passed away this past weekend. I feel guilty, but I need to take care of myself.

I do think people are in the position to critique the use of vape products, legal or not. There are a lot of factors and obstacles around obesity, sedentary lifestyles, and alcoholism. We all have to eat but may not have the time or money to prepare healthy, nutritious food. Same for exercise, plus a lot of people have chronic pain. People have emotional issues around food that are hard to overcome when we can't simply quit eating, and food is part of how we bond with others. Alcohol abuse is tricky because alcoholism is inherited, and alcohol is everywhere, making it hard to avoid. None of these is a factor in vaping. It isn't unavoidable, there isn't social pressure or tradition involved, it isn't a disease like alcoholism, it doesn't happen due to being poor or lack of access to better choices. Vaping is just a silly, expensive, dangerous habit that makes you look like a douche and might eventually kill you. If saying this makes you think I'm a self-righteous asshole, fine.

We currently live in a world that believes an emotional response = truth. It's why people believe that vaccines are evil, essential oils can cure anything, your kidneys need cleansing, and that lemon juice can detox your liver. This is the age of misinformation.

(Apparently I have more to say about this, so if you're annoyed, feel free to skip) Our society *is* sexist. It's structural. So there are men who aren't actively, consciously sexist who don't understand that they have male privilege because they've never raped or beaten a woman. And they don't understand that their ability to think of themselves as simply "Kevin" and not "a man" is part of that privilege. Men consider their experience to be universal. Anything that doesn't pertain to their experience is "women's issues." Gender division of labor goes beyond housework and care taking. It extends to mental and emotional labor we carry. This structure, in which we put children first while they put career first, in which we assume that a normal relationship is one where the man makes more money than the woman, that it's her job to "keep him happy"- is sexist. And it's the frame we're all raised with and don't question very often. That's what I'm saying.

Ugh, my knee pain from marathon training is just increasing. The lack of running I can do right now is making me feel worse leading to emotional eating. My marathon is in 3 weeks. I'm getting nervous. :(

2/2 We had a family locator app then, and one night I noticed he was in a nearby city after work. It didn't show him at his hotel until the next morning, at the exact moment he called me. I figured the guys all went out, his phone died & he just put it on charge when he got back until the next morning. Turns out this woman lives in that city. He had told me she was a friend of other local friends they'd made, but funnily, she wasn't FB friends with them hmmm. 4. The one that tore my heart out, the ultimate betrayal. MY former friend of 30 years. The one he started an emotional affair with while we were engaged, that I didn't discover until after we were married. He swore on his kids that he'd never speak to her again. Ladies, I am sleeping with the devil. I'm sick to my stomach. I can't leave just yet. I'm not letting him know I know. I'm taking this fucker to the cleaners.

I don't really care for dd's husband. They only knew each other for about 3 months before they got pregnant. They married awhile after that. Something about him seems off. My ds has worked with her husband and said he's a jerk, talks down to him, and acts like my dh/dd and ds's dad. Dh is a mean, emotionally unavailable man, hence why we're separated. Both my dd and her husband are in recovery. I'm glad for that. I'll keep them in my prayers because I can't pick anyone's spouse.

My mother gave me a spanking when I was 19. She was physically emotionally and verbally abusive when I was younger and I just snapped. My response was to hit her back a few times while saying "How do you like being hit?" then disappear to a friends house for a week and a half. She left me alone after that.
