I don't think it's a big deal to work alongside people of different ages, it's just when I hear people complaining about how awful all young people are I wonder if part of that is resenting their own position at that point rather than young people actually being awful. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, it's just the "millenials all suck" mentality makes me wonder if that particular person is actually unhappy with her own situation and is taking it out on her coworkers.

I swear sometimes my parents are so dumb I don't know what to do but laugh. They have a neighbor who has some kind of mental disorder-the neighbor has incredible shrieking/moaning/yelling fits every day, multiple times. It's not like there's a fight or slapping and then yelling. She does it out on the street too. Anyway, my parents want to call social services to go investigate, but they're wringing their hands because they said they don't know how to respond if social services asks them to describe the screaming. I was so frustrated. OMG. I said "If you call animal welfare about a barking dog, do they ask you to mimic the dog over the phone before they'll come out?!" GARGH.

I kind of feel like my family is so monumentally messed up that there has just got to be something wrong with me too. My childhood was, well, I don't know. I blocked most of it out. I had two sisters. One died of a drug overdose after a lifetime of mental illness and 15 years in prison, the other is drug addicted and homeless eight states away. I think. I have three brothers and two of them are addicts. In my immediate family, my oldest brother (who I really barely know) and I are the only ones who've never done time in jail. How could I have grown up in the same family with these people and not be messed up? I have a real belief that there is something inherently wrong with me, but I refuse to talk about it. When I think about telling people that I really and truly don't think I'm right, like the whole essence of me is just wrong (I mean, look at where I came from) and I will never feel normal or as good as other normal people.... it just makes me think about Regina George wanting to lose three pounds. It makes my stomach turn. I am not looking for validation. I'm aware that I look and act like a normal person. Educated, respected. Other people are unaware that I'm actually not a normal person. I really don't believe this is a fixable thing. I don't think my brain works the same way as 'normal' people. I don't think my thought processes are normal. I don't feel authentic at all. I'm a big fake phony fraud.

Sex and orgasms for me at least are all mental. No amount of stimulation, emotion etc from a man or woman will get me to that place unless I allow myself to cum. I just hate that I had to destroy my xDH's ego and our marriage in the process of figuring out what is honestly my "issue" I wish i could take back all the sex with strangers and all the resentment I built up towards him and just appreciate what I had in that man who worked so hard for so long to try to please me only to have me selfishly withhold my orgasms out of spite and to get even, we were young then. sigh....

I try to keep in touch with my mentally ill brother, but it's hard to talk to someone who only wants to talk about his problem and his meds and how shit he feels. I have no advice to offer him. He wouldn't take any anyway.

Don't worry, it's probably just judgmental Tom Cruise crashing here. Wait it out, he'll go act a'fool somewhere else soon enough.

I finally feel like The Universe is saying, "It's your turn." My husband is back in our former city and already flourishing with a great new job, and spending time with his friends and family. He is on his way back to being mentally, emotionally, financially, and physically stable. I am so happy to see him be his true self again. I have an interview set up when I move back with him, and I feel that there's no where else to go but UP, as we have been at rock bottom before and are slowly coming out of it.

Whilst I agree that it's torturous to keep an animal alive while suffering, it only benefits the owners it's kinder to humanely put the animal to sleep (although I do understand the mentality some owners have because they don't want to let go, and I wouldn't put an animal to sleep that had quality of life), I would like to raise a controversial opinion. What about people? People with terminal illnesses who want the same right to die? Where is their dignity? IMO They have as much right to a peaceful, painless death as a dog does.

My FB friend home-schools and mostly to put her children in a "safe" bubble from the world. She shares everyday, news posts about this or that school and something going on (i.e., teacher busted for drugs, student stabs another etc) and will always add, "this is why I home school". She does this everyday, I think she scours the internet looking for these type of stories to justify her homeschooling her kids. They do great in school, but she doesn't socialize them via school functions or regular family/friends anymore especially since she moved so far away from all her friends. I don't blame her for home-schooling, but keeping your kids from the world is a disservice to them. But I have a feeling a little more is going on with her, mentally.
