My horoscopes have all said things about salary increases, being recognized for my hard work, given more responsibility, promotions, etc this week. Now if only my employer would finish interviewing all candidates for what would be a promotion with more responsibility and better pay... that I've been working on all year! I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but out of all of the people I know that applied, I'm the most qualified and reliable. There are 2 men that I consider my biggest competition- one has scheduling conflicts that the application specifically said would not be considered and the other one is "on paper" qualified but when he's had a bad day, the entire building knows it and he's not the greatest at receiving criticism. I just wish they'd freaking announce it already so I can stop stressing and figure out what to do next. If I don't get it, I'm going to see if I can have a bigger role in the administrative side.. and maybe take some classes.

My teaching job is messed up right now. My program should have five aides. We have two. I have an autistic kindergartener who is hellbent on escaping the school, even when I am right there with him. It's unsafe. My program specialist is useless. I need more staff. Why did I switch programs? Also my admin wants to put me on the lunchroom schedule and I asked for a pre-grievance meeting. It's getting super uncomfortable. In the spring I requested my own room and laid out my vision for the program. She was all for it. Now that space is tight she forgot all about that. My fifth year at this school might be my last. I feel disrespected and worn down.

Now, if someone refers to him using racist terms, hell yeah, they're going to get called out, as they should. The current administration knows full well that we are all hurting. They don't give a shit. That's what blows my mind about ... well, I guess Republicans in general. Particularly the ones where I live. I live in a tiny little northern town that's chock-full of Republicans. The people they helped to elect don't give two shits about them. It's crazy! They're so fucking worried that Barack Obama himself is going to show up on their doorstep and try to take their guns that they don't realize the Republican party is willing to sacrifice them -literally- for money and power and privilege. No ones trying to take your guns, people! But ask yourself this: What do you need more; your gun or your blood pressure meds? These people vote Republican in election after election and then bitch about Democrats while enjoying ALL those 'entitlements' that the Dems support. It blows my damn mind. People are so stupid it actually scares me sometimes.
