On Christmas, my sister, who lives 2000 miles away, was sick (as usual) and unable to take phone calls. I texted her a Merry Christmas. She sent back three emoticons. No words. Today for New Year's, she's still sick, and so she says she'll call tomorrow, though I know she won't. I really have no desire to talk to her, so I'm not complaining about the lack of contact, just the ignorance about texting - you CAN say words with texts, you know! You can have entire conversations! I'm not buying the excuses. She's just passive aggressive, and I know it, and I really don't want or expect more from her. Just wanted to vent.

I don't really do Star Wars, either. I watched the very first Star Wars movie about halfway when I was a kid, but I got bored. I never watched the other two that came out back then. And I did see the new Star Wars movie that came out in the late 90s in the theater, but I hated it. I never saw the other ones and I have no desire to. Whatever. It doesn't make me a bad person, right?

I'm a mid-40s female and I haven't seen Mary Poppins. No desire to either.

Don't you even scapegoat me you old hag! If you don't have the relationship with your son that you desire, it's not on me, that's on you!

The most narrow minded comment I read today? Guilt = Parents have to help their kids with homework. I have two children and both are the extreme opposite. One needs to be redirected because she loses focus easily and the other needs neither direction or assistance. If the youngest asks for help it's because she truly doesn't understand the problem. The eldest? If lint flies past her, she is a goner. Guilt does not motivate us to help the one child, our desire for her to succeed does.

I've always thought one of my coworkers is a douchebag, but figured he must be a good worker if he's still there. I worked side by side with him today and nope. His work ethic leaves much to be desired. He's new to my department and I was telling him my way of doing it, which is highly efficient (not really tooting my own horn, I learned from the best at work and follow their guidelines since they work well), and he disregarded my suggestions, mentioning that he gets paid by the hour. It took him probably 3-4 times longer to get shit done than it should. I don't know how I can request to never have him on my team again without starting shit. But I don't want to work with him again. Maybe I'll just request to work alone.

I don't think I have an inner Adele. I am able to appreciate the good times I've experienced in the past but have no desire to reclaim the people I've moved on from. The people in my past are there for a reason. Living in the present and looking forward to the future makes me a happier person. You know, I think I just realized why I don't like Adele, haha!

Dude. I just discovered Whole Fruit Sorbet. Guarantee it's better than any ice cream EVER. Do glad I found that!! Totally healthy and totally satisfies the desire for ice cream. And it's dairy and gluten free. I'm seriously in awe of the creamy awesomeness.

I don't get it. Everything is fine, I'm working, hes working 2 jobs because he chooses to do so. We talk about having another baby. We decide to do it. I let him know I'm pregnant, and now he's talking about quitting his main job. The only one that brings in a steady income, provides benefits, and provides retirement. I'm freaking out! We're bringing a whole other person into the world, plus we have ds5, and NOW he's choosing to have a quarterlife crisis complete with desire to quit his job until he finds something he likes? What??

Here in Canada, the province of Ontario wants to cover IVF treatment using our provincial healthcare. This is so fucked up. If you want children so badly and you want IVF fucking pay for it. This is not the only way to become a parent. Don't be so fucking selfish because you "want the experience" of pregnancy or you want your own DNA in there. I think this is the worst use of tax payer funded health care I have ever heard of. If you can't have kids and can't afford to pay for IVF find another way to fulfil your desire to parent.
