Fundamental disagreement here, on this point: your (or my) DH eating like shit is absolutely our problem. Why? Because when he gets sick from having a shit diet his whole life, YOU (or me) are going to be the one who has to take care of him. To take care of house stuff that he can't do anymore. To take him to the doctor, to pick up his meds, to put your entire life on hold to take care of him. And I get that any of us could wind up sick and needing help, regardless of diet/lifestyle. But why put yourself in a position where that's going to be more likely? To me, my DH eating a shit diet and not exercising and not taking care of himself means that he doesn't care about ME and the fact that I like the guy and would kind of like him to be around and able to do stuff with me as we grow old together.

First day back and I miss my old teammate. We both started 3 years ago with the org. Not only was so she a huge emotional support, but she was buffer between myself and another coworker that always seems to trigger me with her prying personal questions. She's from Australia and doesn't seem to be tactful at all. Today when talking about our hours she asked if I was working another PT job, I simply said no. She looked shocked and asked if I was just chilling with the rest of my time. I pushed back and said, No, I'm choosing to take time away to focus on my health. If only you knew what I've been working on. I didn't want to share how tough it's been for my mental health this past year because she's very nosy. She was the one that randomly asked if I had a boyfriend yet. UGH, she's the only one my team, so I need to be ok with working with her.

I make more than double (almost triple) what DH makes and he is very proud of me. He takes pretty damn good care of me, too. I don't have to worry about much. But I do wish he'd be more helpful with housework. If he was an ass to me about the fact that I support him financially, I think I'd have to re-think being married to him. I mean, that's pretty fundamental, don't you think? I do.

I'm the OP of the Xbox confession, and I wish something like that would happen to my son. I was always the odd kid out, and am still the odd adult out. I was homeschooled and an outcast growing up, so my mom sent me to school in 7th grade where I was assaulted by a boy and he dislocated my jaw. The school didn't punish him because he "had a rough home life". I still have mental and physical issues from that year. I went back to homeschooling after that. I never ever thought one of my kids would be a bully and haven't the slightest idea how to get it across to him that that type of behavior is unacceptable. I honestly feel like he would benefit from being publicly called out.

And I've woken up with a tension headache every day for 3 weeks, my anxiety is in full force for unknown reasons, my DH is (probably rightly so) refusing to allow any extended family Christmas, my hair is almost all gone, I'm still having mental and physical health issues, I've been homeschooling the kids and DH doesn't believe they're learning enough despite us using the same curriculum and testing great, I'm having to decide by January 20 whether or not they'll go back to school next year, we're in mass amounts of debt due to this year and last year being really bad. I'm so overwhelmed.

For all his dealing with my mom and never forcing her to get treatment for her mental issues, I love my dad tremendously. I haven't gotten to see him this year hardly at all because of COVID and because I finally had to cut my mom off for my own mental health. I just found out that he has been having congestion problems for the last couple of weeks, issues breathing, and they are testing to see if it's heart or lungs. Now I'm so angry with myself for being too weak to keep putting up with my mom so that I can talk to my dad regularly. And I don't know how to go back to regular communication because I really can't stand her. I'm so upset and I don't know what to do.

Even though she's been really flaky. I know what that is like since I've been on that side of things where mental health is down and don't feel like seeing anyone. I still dropped off a little self care package for her because I knew it would make me feel good.

What the hell is the deal with the TP shortage again? I'm in Florida, which is NOT on lockdown of any kind, and there was ONE package of it on the shelf today. I'm not hoarding; just buying it for now. Same with paper towels, napkins, and anything microwaveable. For the previous poster who said most of the people he/she sees that aren't wearing masks are overweight, you're full of crap! I'm overweight and wear a mask EVERYwhere I go. You've obviously got a problem with people who aren't fit like you....next you should work on being MENTALLY fit, because you're not.

DH just lost a good friend to suicide. This guy had just gotten divorced and apparently didn't take it too well. DH said he didn't understand divorce--his words were "Why would someone want to lose all their money and end up in an apartment instead of choosing to have money and a house?" Answer: Sometimes happiness and personal wellbeing is worth more than a house. Honestly, I didn't care for the friend because of how he treated his wife when they were married and I knew she divorced him because of his mental illness and the fact that he ignored her all the time. I kind of think DH is starting to realize that he sometimes ignores me and treats me less-than-ideal and he doesn't want to lose me.

I try hard every day to not be my mom, and my h knows this. She's got so many mental health issues she refuses to address, and she never sleeps at night. I haven't been able to sleep well the last couple of weeks, which I haven't thought much about since life is really stressful for the world right now. But my H finally confronted me about it and all I said was "I don't know why I'm not sleeping, I'm sure it will pass." And he says "don't be like your mom. Just tell the truth." Like Im doing it for attention or something. It's not like I'm sleeping all day like she does, and I'm not moaning about my lack of sleep. It really hurt my feelings though, and I don't know how to address that without sounding like her.
