I am so sick of family members getting themselves into shit and expecting to be bailed out financially again and again. You make monumentally stupid choices, at some point you need to learn to live with the consequences. Instead of expecting your approaching elderly parents to pick up your messes again and again.

People, you're making mountains out of mole hills. Seriously. Moms are not expecting/asking to be paid for raising their kids. The statistics of what SAHMs are worth for doing all of the "jobs" they do is just for fun. It wasn't meant to be serious. Anyone who takes it seriously, has mental problems. You're just looking for 1 more reason to put down SAHMs. Just chill out. SAHMs are not better than working moms, and working moms are not better than SAHMs. We're all equal because we're all doing what we feel is best for our own families.

When will be the last straw for me to eat better and exercise? My fat, constantly swollen ankles? The fact that I look 7 months pregnant with this fat stomach? The fact that I've outgrown my clothes? Or that my knees hurt just to bend down to pick something up? None of that (plus more) are motivators enough for me to take care of myself and make the change. Maybe it is more to me mentally than this. Help?!

I sympathize with you, injured runner. Hugs to you. I'm the kind of person that has to exercise, not only for physical health but for mental health also. I was into a regular exercise program working out everyday for 4 months and then I hurt my foot (developed Morton's Neuroma). I was wearing my running shoes and I probably should have been wearing cross training shoes instead. I'm convinced it makes a difference. A few times I ran on the beach in the hard-packed sand and that didn't seem to hurt my foot too much, but I'm trying to let it rest and ice it and take advil. It seems to be getting worse. I'm freaking out. I need to workout. So depressing.

I am mystified (and it might partially be a lack of clarity/misunderstanding) by all these people doing their own (and only their own) laundry! In my family, everyone did some laundry at some point, but we washed everything *together*! (I get the sense that people are only washing their own things in several of the recent posts). The benefit is that you didn't have to wait a week + for a full load of <insert type of laundry: delicates/only white whites, etc> to pile up + you were being way more environmentally conscious by having full loads of everything (colors, whites, hot water, cold water washes etc).

Lol please. Little miss innocent again. Huge numbers of insults and then "who, me?" Please. I'm sorry for what made you so narcissistic that you don't actually realise that you are actually bigoted as fuck, and I've seen it in you about a billion times. You're like an MRA who insists he isn't a sexist. You just judgementally jump on and pick apart every little thing someone says in some sad, attention-seeking attempt to make yourself seem less judgey than though. But you're really not. You're one of the most judgemental people I've never had the pleasure of meeting. Enjoy your holier-than-thou little corner of the world. I'm offski.

I am perfectly capable of doing my own laundry. When I'm visiting at home, sometimes my mom or dad offers to throw mine in with theirs. I don't get this mentality that any type of helping out - even like the basic stuff that goes into communal living - is somehow bad. If I make dinner for my parents when I'm visiting does that mean they're suddenly unable to feed themselves??? No, it's just normal nice things we do for each other because we're family and we like each other.

I wasn't telling anyone how to eat, you **deleted**. It was a flippant comment more akin to begging. I'm confessing anonymously on an internet forum, not putting out a wide message for billions of Asian peple to see. I just find it pretty sad that people would want to trade being vibrant into a very elderly age for the host of health problems a Western diet causes? Not to mention the environmental devastation caused by all that factory meat farming...China adopting a Western diet, with population size, is a pretty serious blow to an already bad situation. And we all have to live with the ramifications of that. I don't think sugar is "evil" and I had to google to figure out who Robert Lustig is. Sugar is just one bad factor in a really terrible diet with too much refined carbohydrate, poor quality meat laden with antibiotics, caffeine and fuck knows what else.. I do think a standard American diet is truly awful and it's horrible to hear that the rest of the world is starting to eat modelled on a country with the highest rates of some of the most preventable illnesses there are. China is already seeing sky-rocketing diabetes and obesity rates. Why don't you shovel a Big Mac in your mouth and stop acting like I'm some racist to think it's awful that THIS shitty diet is one being adopted in an area of the world that include the country with the longest living people on the planet.

I'm a nurse. I worked in a mental Health institution for a few months and got to understand patients with borderline personality disorder. The more I was there, the harder it became to deny to myself that I also have borderline personality disorder. I'm so scared and ashamed to admit it to anyone or get diagnosed officially and get help. Because honestly, I didn't feel like the help provided did any good for those patients anyways. I feel like my life and career will be over. It explains why I can't keep any relationships. I mean I haven't had a bf in 5 years or even one friend. Fuck.

You expect your kids to take care of you when you are old? Most kids will have to work and take care of their own kids. Maybe you should not just expect to be a burden. You don't know how much of a toll you will take on them. And you can't expect them to have the resources to deal with it - the time, the room, the mentality and the finances. Maybe while you are of sound mind, you could make a plan instead of waiting and assuming.
