My sister tends to be very judgmental of my kids. I know she cares for them, but she can be very harsh. My 10 yr old DS really likes these expensive socks. Sure, 10 years ago I would have said I would never spend 15 bucks on 1 pair of socks, but it is the only thing he is asking for for Christmas. So he is getting a few pairs. I am not asking her to buy them for him. She comments on how he must be spoiled since he wants those, how she would never spend that much on a pair of socks. Well, sis, you just spend $80 on a Frozen dress for your daughter to wear to some Disney show. I don't think we are too far off.. My son will also get a little teary eyed after he loses a basketball game. Now, this isn't during the game or even around the team. He gets upset. It is his thing. He wants his team to do well and he wants to do well. She says how she will not allow her daughter to play sports if she ever cries and it is poor parenting if they do. Get over yourself sis! Your daughter is not going to be perfect. When she gets older, she will do things you don't approve of and you will not want to be judged for it. I have great kids. My job is not to control them, but to guide them. Along that way he is going to make mistakes, but as long as he learns from them I thinking we are doing pretty good. Karma sis. Karma.

Met someone's horrible mother in law at work today. She was exchanging some leggings for a bigger size and said 'my daughter in law has gained so much weight from her new baby" with a condescending/mean tone. I replied something to the point of it's hard to lose baby weight with the hormones just the first few months. She thought about it for a few seconds and said "you have a point." Hope someone's mother in law is less of a judgemental witch now!

I so appreciate the poster who pointed out that he doesn't love me, so what could I possibly get from a relationship with him? You're 100% correct, and I'm trying to remember that. Printed out your words, actually. They are what I needed to read. But also, I think part of what's so hard for me is that long before he was my lover, he was someone who changed my life on a monumental scale - more than I think anyone else ever has or will again. He was my best friend and my surrogate family before he was my boyfriend. He was there for me when I was all alone and no one else was there. And then we fell in love...and sadly it didn't work out. But we'd said that we always wanted to be in each other's lives. I said that first and foremost! But now he's gone! He was my rock, and he's gone, and I'm all alone once again. I miss my friend more than I miss my lover. It just doesn't feel real to be without him. It gets better, and then I backslide, as I am now. He doesn't have to want me...I just miss having him there as my touch point. I know how pathetic I sound. I won't contact him, I promise. I've just never felt this way before, not even when I left my husband. The holidays make it tough too. Thanks for being supportive and for saying the right thing. I'll keep trying.

I work in med records. Even thought I shouldn't have, I looked up a long lost friend. Turns out she has serious mental health issues, Don't think I'd ever want to see her again if I ever found her.

When will I learn my lesson? Why do I share personal things with so-called friends, only to get a ration of shitty advice about how I shouldn't have done what I did. She doesn't even know him. She only hears bits and pieces of what I've shared in frustration. She asked what was new with my relationship. I didn't ask for her advice, and she happens to be the poster child for how not to live your life (and she would be the first to agree about that). How dare she be so judgmental of my decisions. She said she was trying to give me helpful advice and saying I need to move on from this guy. Oh fuck you. Well, lesson learned... Don't share personal stories with her unless you want to be harshly judged.

Did you ever stop and think WHY your ss does those things and tells him mom lies? He's probably angry at his father and this is his way of taking it out on him. Instead of just declaring ss as a troublemaker, why don't you address the real problem and get him some help? And sorry but a 4 year old does not have the mental capacity to truly understand actions like the ones you described or their consequences.

Today my kids and I had a great start to the day, we had plans to go to the mall and do some shopping and I was going to let them play in the play area at the mall and then rent some movies for them. Less than half an hour into being at the mall my ds6 throws up right in the middle of Bath & Body Works as we're waiting in this long line to pay for our soap. I was so embarrassed and people were given me that judgmental stink eye as if I was a bad mom for dragging him to the mall while he's sick. He felt fine on the ride to the mall and looking at winter coats but whatever he's sick with just hit him out of nowhere. Our fun trip out turned out to be not so fun :( And he's been barfing off and on all evening.

My stepson is one year younger than me. We made completely different life choices, and it seems as if he is at least 10 years younger. I suppose prison really does stop the mental aging process.

Firstly, I never made out like anyone had it easy, nor that current twenty somethings have it worse than others. Just that pretty much every one of my peers had their expectations smashed when they left university and entered the job market...any entitlement is long, long gone. I was simply I just I also find it hilarious that it's OK to be judgmental and ageist against an entire generation and yet when one of that generation responds in kind the shoe is on a different foot. Not nice being singled out for your age is it? No, to me hag doesn't refer to appearance it's a mean bitch with a nasty attitude who's judgmental of other people around her. As for old, you can be old in age or old in attitude. Stop being such a cunt. And an old haggish one at that. Go nurse your fucking hangnail.

Just when I think I cannot hate my soon to be ex anymore than I already do he comes up with something new and improved to make me want to smack the living crap out of him. A few months ago he sent an email to our son telling him that he was dropping him from his health insurance because our son is a traitor. Our son is a traitor because he stopped his father from abusing his little sister and told the police what happened. Anyway today my son gets an email from his dad stating that he changed his mind about dropping him from the insurance. His dad said that since it was apparent that our son was either too stupid or unable to find full time work where he can get insurance he was going to keep him on the insurance. Our son is 22. He is a full time college student and is looking for work. In the meantime he donates plasma and does private music gigs for money. His dad went onto say that our son is mentally ill and needs serious therapy for being a traitor so he needs the insurance because he is (and I quote) fucked up beyond all belief. I seriously want to kill this man. He abused us for years. He terrorized us. He calls my kids worthless N words (he is black). He makes sexual comments about our daughters. Even going so far as to asking our oldest daughter's boyfriend what she was like in bed. And my son is the one who is fucked up beyond all belief. I truly hope that Karma catches up with this son of a bitch and I hope to God that I am there to see it.
