This site is just a beacon of critical consumerism.

There is such a thing as being a critical consumer of pop culture. I suggest you Google Postmodernism, for a start. We're not all brainwashed, but thank you for your concern.

Dehumanizing Kim and Kanye is just one example of how the media brainwashes you to the point of being unable to think for yourself.

I looked at a pop culture website today and barely knew who any of the people were. :/

They did a tribute to Barbara Walters on "The View" today and I noticed that every blonde journalist/TV personality that came to wish her well had the EXACT same hair color. Weird.

I saw a trailer for a movie called "The Holy Mountain" from 1973. It looks *incredibly* bizarre. Anyone seen this? I'm intrigued, but is it awesome or just too ridiculous to sit through? Some (only some) of the movies from that era have too much trippy nonsense for my taste or I'm just not getting the commentary. This looks like it could have a solid, interesting story/message.

I get that talk and reality shows are trashy but that doesn't stop me from watching them. I work at home, have my own hobby that I put to good use and run an efficient house. So, I don't understand how guests can come to my house and complain if I watch crappy things. I finally had enough when one of my husband's friends kept going on about what I watched and said I needed a hobby. I got up, got my calligraphy set and in a fine English script wrote back the lines of the show (it was Jeremy Kyle) and gave it to him. Later on he was being an ass about how women don't contribute anything and said "I know women. I was married." From the living room I called out "Yeah. WAS" Next time he should watch his mouth.
