Ugh. Boss, your failure to plan does not equal an emergency on my part. He emailed me this afternoon that he needed a file from me because he was on his way (read--already driving) to a conference. The file is on the computer in the lab, about 2 hours away from where I am for the weekend. I told him I could send it to him Sunday night when I get back, but no effin' way am I driving all the way back to the lab and then back to my inlaws' for the rest of the weekend so he can have his stupid file. He wasn't planning to pay me for doing this, either, so yeah...sorry dude. Should've asked me earlier.

I wrote on another board about my CW who I think is sabotaging me. I'm in charge of getting together the paper files that our boss takes when we close a deal. Last month he sent me a picture from a closing. It was a document that belonged to an entirely different deal. At the time, I just chalked it up to my mistake. Well, we have a deal closing today. On Tuesday I took that file and went through the checklist of all necessary docs, and added the final one that had just come in. Last night before I left, I checked it one last time, since boss will be in before me today to pick it up. Something had been added - a doc from a file that closed four weeks ago. Once a file closes, I scan all docs into the e-file (that everyone has access to) and destroy the paper docs. So how did that get in there?

Yay! There's a work channel! Yesterday at work was not the greatest. My new student kept trying to escape the building, and he hit and scratched me a lot. I told his parents not to worry, that tomorrow will be better. I sure hope so!

What?? I didn't know we had a work channel. Cool stuff. On the work front--I found a cool job that I *may* be actually qualified for. I plan to apply, but I am not optimistic. I haven't been having any luck.

Since this is the work channel, I have a question that has to do with work. For all my bookkeeper peeps out there, If you are managing "books" that have lots of errors that go back a decade, how do you clean up your QB file? Where TF do you even start? Or do you start with a "fresh set of books" and methodically bring stuff over?
